Sneaking back in and sitting quietly at the back. Been crazy busy here. DD3 has been moved to live with her brother and partner. More job opportunities "up North". Small field has been cut for hay, had to be rowed up by hand! Only two acres! DGC have broken up for summer, so lots more childcare being done. And have now got a great niece and nephew staying with us for a while, their baby brother is in hospital. So had to replace a floor and carpet a bedroom last week. Now have five children under eight in the house. I have loaded the DW and made lots of coffee!!!! Will try to be around more. Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.10

Morning/afternoon all. Coping vibes to all those with children to entertain during the holidays and get well soon to poorlies.
Thanks for the list and for all the messages for Littleydog.
She is doing very well in her recovery and the vet was pleased with her this morning.
Today I have done dailies, changed bedding, dusted bedroom of a fashion, hoovered through, done a little admin, s&sd bathrooms and three wash loads are now on line.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Managed to skim read most of the thread so far. Lovely to see you back @Dizzy_Imp. What breed are the pigs @Deleted_User? Do they have names? Ours are two male Berkshire, saddleback crosses. Named bacon and Sausage. Hugs to @Valli and all others who need or want one. A gently pat for Littleydog. DW has finished and will be loaded again soon. Tea in the oven, pasta bake. Slide from outside now in the middle of the carpet, surrounded by the sofa cushions. Two year old has chalk on her nose and is brushing her hair with a spoon. Life's normal here. @mumtoomany I was thinking of you the other day my lovely, great to see you back. They are Oxford Sandy Blacks, unnamed yet. We are borrowing a boar when the time comes to hopefully have a litter.Ideally next plan is to get a couple of ewes to put into lamb in November, more research needed first though xx11

Car passed MOT and has had service all under £200 so in budget.New walking boots bought as old ones have a worn sole, (I wonder why
) Mountain Warehouse had a sale on, plus another 25% off sale prices, so boots were £50 originally, in sale plus 25%, just paid £22.59, so well pleased

Hi all. @asparklyblonde, I love OSB's would like some but nobody locally seems to sell them. They are meant to be very friendly. Re ewes, we don't put ours to the tup until the end of the year. That way, the lambs are born when the weather is slightly better, more chance of surviving. Also if you need to go out checking on them, or feeding lambs in the early hours, the weather is better for you. The other advantage is that borrowing a ram is easier, they've usually finished work for their owners.
Both babies now asleep for the night, DW on again! One more load to do, hugs, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.10 -
Thanks @mumtoomany for the advice, much appreciated xx Yes OSBs are very friendly, there are a couple of groups on Facebook dedicated to them, you may get something that way, if I hear of any in your neck of the woods I’ll let you know.
Feel worn out and short of breath, bed for me soon. We had a power cut earlier too, the joys of v rural life, so we spent a lot of time doing chores and the children were actually more help than hindrance! Sleep well all xx

Thank you for the lists. Welcome back to the family, Badcat and Mumtoomany! Hugs to all poorlies, and gentle strokes to Littleydog.
I have opened the kitchen window - level one, tick!Wm loaded for tomorrow, clean washing sorted, dinner cooked and kitchen tidied. The green bin is out for tomorrow’s collection, so now I think I need to look for my missing knitting mojo, or my summer cardigan will be fit for next summer only. Have an itch to start some dressmaking, so must get the knitting done.
Back in the morning x9 -

Hope round is feeling better x
Glad to hear that Littleydog has come through her op well.
I am shattered this evening as I didn't sleep at all well last night. My friend K came to help me by cleaning windows but didn't stop hoovering and polishing until the whole house was clean (apart from the utility and mancave - I don't touch the latter anyway!), and of course I couldn't leave her to do it all on her own. Goodness knows how many steps I did, but I went up and downstairs umpteen times, and I still took Rosie for a walk later. K also helped me make up the beds with fresh bedding, and I hung out WMx3. I also dealt with another two admin jobs and crossed them off my list. Still got plenty of admin to do, but the house can mostly look after itself for a fortnight, until K can come again. (Note to self: Make more cakes!)
DH managed to take himself for a short walk in our cul-de-sac this afternoon after receiving a phonecall from a physioterrorist. We now have to go to the horse piddle tomorrow to get his crutches adjusted so that he is not leaning forward when he walks, but at least we can combine the visit with me getting a blood test done.
I need to go to bed early tonight, so will close down my PC now and go and iron pillowcases whilst watching a repeat of LLF.
G'night all xx10 -
Walked to and from work today. Took me about half an hour each way and it’s just over a mile between here and there so that’s a slow walk. I was carrying a laptop though.
