@Doorlock21 from what I’ve seen this is usually a good sign. As they are willing to lend just want some clarity. What did they ask for if you don’t mind me asking?
Just a default settled letter and then said willing to offer £5k less than what we needed but it’s ok as we will put another £5k on our deposit.
but waiting to hear again now to see what they say
This sounds really Good. Keeping everything crossed. Does the default not show as settled on your credit file then?
Yes it does apart from one credit file it doesn’t, but hopefully shouldn’t be a problem. We have tried to get a letter from them to say it’s settled and paid but the company have closed.
but because they are talking about what they are willing to offer even before a formal offer, I’m not too worried.
Our application has been in since Saturday 16th and our broker is on holiday, I’m trying not to think about it. Glad to hear you are all making some progress with the applications.

Does your broker have an admin assigned to them? Ours does and the broker handed over to them to work to progress to offer. Surley someone must be picking it up ??
I have read through this thread and am in a similar position to you all although mine is a remortgage.
My initial application went in during May, then had to send some more docs on 29th June. My broker heard from the underwriter on Monday, she had an initial query which if we couldn’t satisfy she wouldn’t take the application further. She was happy with what we sent through and then she sent some further questions and requests for further docs, nothing too bad. Now I can’t stop checking my emails, even though I know it may be 8 days. I’m just hoping they don’t say no and then I’m back to square 1!

Hi bec3812, Welcome! Seems like a really long time since May!! Do you have bad credit? Why Kent Reliance? Mortgage brokers on a different thread said Kent Reliance very rarely decline mortgage past DIP stage as long as they are happy with docs

How frustrating! I hope they don’t then come back to me with more questions which puts more time on it! Why can’t they just put down all the questions in one go??

Thank you, that’s good to know. I hope it’s the case for me.
My credit score is fine, I just have a fair amount of debt and a self employed husband, the remortgage will clear all the debt and leave some for some much needed house improvements
