I do accounts and one of my boys got the letter above, out the blue so asked if I could help with it,

I emailed the original parking firm CSC, obviously DRS and cc correspondence@levellingup.gov.uk as per directives on unfair parking charges.

The response from CSC is pointless and the DRS response I actually laughed at the list of fees then tilted my head at court costs?! Oh the email response from DRS was on the 7/7 @15:13 and payment was too be made end of play THE FOLLOWING DAY! That’s when I did a quick search and found this thread. Please advise if I need to inform anyone else and and what I should respond?

    Thanks

@darkvenom007 No one should be made to feel bad about reporting a genuine scam.

On the Action Fraud 'contact us' page, if you scroll down, you will see instructions on how to make a complaint about their service.  You should do this and include a link to this thread to show that your complaint is genuine and has been reported by many.  Include a link to the accountants home page too.

It may prompt Action Fraud to take this scam more seriously and prevent others being scammed.
    Action fraud simply collect data
  • I had the same letter with the deadline for today. I also got insurance from Zego recently for private hire. I didn’t have CCJ on my file. I didn’t pay obviously. I went to the accountants they use the address of, and they said it’s a scam as well.

It’s so horrendous because action fraud made me feel like I was wrong in bringing this to their attention and said “I’m sure they’re following their procedure correctly”. And action fraud should’ve had this company’s name on their records already because the accountants told me that they had reported it. And I see here that others have reported it too.

How many people may have already paid?
Action Fraud are there to do a job and they often fail.
Sounds like you spoke to a "jobs worth".

Action Fraud reports are passed to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) who assess, analyse and send them to police forces for investigation.

What happens when you contact Action fraud?
When you report a fraud to Action Fraud, you are given a police crime reference number and your case will be referred on to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB), which is run by the police service.

This fraud is a danger to the public.  I would contact them again  and if you get fobbed off again, go straight to the media, and a national newspaper
