Caversham_Chalky said:Managed to get the new credit card by transferring over from the old one and retained the credit limit I had, So all well and good, started spending on the new card and have just recived my statement BUT the time between the statement and having to make payment has been reduced from c. 25 days to 15 days (reduces the interest free period if you pay off in full each month). I complained to Newday and they said if you transfer from the old card you get c 15 days but if you applied without doing the transfer route you get 25 days, basically meaning you are being pernalised for being loyal!. Needless to say I was not happy and have written to the chairperson of JLP and have been contacted by someone in the Customer Relations Department saying that the Chairperson has asked them to look into this, hopefully something will change.0

I'm not sure how you can conclude that's not a penalty for being loyal to the John Lewis brand since it's a new credit product either way.0

I have just had an e-mail about my monthly John Lewis Rewards, which includes a link to how one earns on the new credit card. Now, this is presumably entirely my own fault for not studying the T&Cs, but according to that link it seems that on the new card one will only earn reward points on Waitrose and John Lewis purchases, rather than on any purchase as before. https://www.johnlewisfinance.com/content/dam/jlf/pscd/pdfs/card-points/John-Lewis-Partnership-Card-Earning-Points.pdf makes no mention of earning points on the majority of my spend, as I have done for years. I am pretty annoyed, because I have made some large purchases this month, and was expecting 1% back on them. But I don't want to change the card now, because of the effect it will have on my credit file - they don't like a lot of swapping cards around. Catch-22.

My account already includes points on purchases outside of the JLP.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0 -
It does, but its definition of "eligible purchases" seems to be confined to the JLP. But if your account shows points on other purchases, that gives me hope!

Yes I have a statement already whereas with old card I wouldn’t have had to pay till November so wish I’d put it on there but was enticed by triple points offer
plus it’s very hard to set up a payment from the bank like I used to do. Bank couldn’t find details
does anyone have this information0 -
The link to set up a Direct Debit is on the Account page. Alternatively, for ad hoc payments, you can pay by Switch, also via a link on that page. You don't push the payment from the bank account, you pull it from the credit card account, just as one did with the old card.
