I've donated to foodbank, got 2 big bags for life ready to take to CS next week (will likely have more to add before then) and decluttered a load of paperwork to files/ shredding (composted)/ recycling. Boys have been removing things from their rooms to go/ pass on/ bin/ recycle/ sell. Some progress is being made 🙌
Today I have made a loaf, popped to L1d1, made rocky road-ish, done more of the above paperwork stuff- and had a nap- it's all about balance! 😁😁 Now for some more food, hanging the laundry out and then tackling another small area in DS2's room with him (he does the work - I suggest/ encourage)
Gorgeous sunny day here - again too warm to paint the fence - ah well, it's not going anywhere 😃I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -

I took 2 books back to the library - wasn't allowed on the car park, had to walk all round the back and side of the library. There was a path to the steps but I had to wait to be let through the barrier and then escorted all round the front steps to get to the slope at the other side. Returned my books and renewed all the ones due in the next 3 days. Sat in the library and in the foyer before going down the ramp and being escorted back to my original entry point - couldn't go across the top of the car park to get to the bank. Had to go all round the outside edge of the Civic square, then crossed the road. Went to B00ts to buy a meal deal with my points than back to the cashpoint. Was absolutely wiped out and not planning to go further than the backs tomorrow.
However at 9.36 am I became a grandma, so nothing else really matters.9 -
Hugs @beanielou
Congratulations @grandmanerd
Caravan day 7I was up early and had a FaceTime with Mum. Showed her the wee loch next to the caravan and introduced her to some of our feathered neighbours. We’ve got new parents on the loch. I sat watching them for a while. The chicks are so small that the parents seemed to have them sitting on lily pads while they gathered food. Then Mama Moorhen led them back to their nearby nest on the water while Dad continued gathering. It was beautiful to see. And now I know why the big herron had been hanging about again. Probably hoping for some scrambled eggs.Today the three of us all mucked in to tidy / clean the caravan, played games, and went out for dinner.Grateful today for wildlife watching, getting the caravan tidy, winning Battleships, and a very nice glass of white wine.

Waaaaaaaaaaaah! Congratulations @grandmanerdToday I chose not to use my car. It was a conscious decision as I use it every school day, and today is not a school day!! So if I wanted to go anywhere I walked. So I had a walk, bought some bargains at Wading Bird Store, did battle on the phone with the records department of NI hospitals, Not sure I am any further on, but at least wheels are in motion.Trimmed the hedge away from the gate and made a pile for the tip/recycling centre tomorrowMartin's news today about the October energy price hike is horrific - I quote from his account .....but @mothernerd really is @grandmanerd nowthe latest price cap predictions from Cornwall Insights. A huge spike in the key year-ahead wholesale price meansOCT cap prediction UP 64% (so £3,244/yr on typical bills)JAN cap prediction UP 4% (so £3,363/yr)And it looks like my energy provider is about to go bust (OFTM)

Congratulations @grandmanerd, happy cuddles!
Sending hugs @beanielou, take things easy.
Happy holidays @f0xh0les & @apple_muncher.
Raining yet AGAIN. It stopped briefly after breakfast, so walked a mile each way to the post office to post the 5 RM Survey items. Also completed the form to be a potential living donor for DH, so posted that at the same time. Took DS3 to town, picked up my mum, dropped sewing off, then did the food shop. DS went exploring on his own, then to meet a friend he was going to the cinema with. I went back to mum's & we crocheted & chatted. Gave DS3's friend, his brother & mum a lift home. Pleased to discover that the 2 tonnes of sand had been delivered in tonne bags, so no need to barrow it to a different place. The coal came on a pallet too, so can use that for building or firewood 😃
Watched a couple of programmes off the box, & did more crochet. Heading to bed soon with my book.
Grateful for craft time with mum, getting everything delivered in town, Friday night treats (chocolate, schnapps & crisps)Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

I lost 2of my cats within 5 days 2 years agoSo sorry you've had another fall beanie. I so wish there was some way of preventing them.I remember you losing the two cats within days of each other. Those we love whether people or pets never really leave us. They live on in our hearts and our memories. We lost our beloved Oliver aka Olliemog many years ago not long after his and our beloved Freddie Mercury. Ollie loved Freddie and would sit in front of theTV watching the moves as Freddie leapt and danced around the stage. The day The Days of Our Lives was suddenly premiered on TV dd and I knew it was Freddies goodbye. Ollie watched but we had to keep showing all the DVDs of concerts and playing the CDs to keep him happy. We lost Ollie suddenly not long after which was a second great sadness.Talking together we imagined Ollie in a sparkly catsuit dancing among the stars with his beloved Freddie which brought a weird sense of comfort. We already had a rosemary planted for Freddie in the garden and Oliver was laid to reat under a different coloured Rosemary near him. Youngest much younger then made him a littlle headstone from some recycled Welsh Slate I was using for projects in the garden.Lovely green slate. She wrote the date we brought him home from the Rescue and the date we lost him underneath she wrote He was a person.which brought the tears to my eyes. There was a sick cat we found under a shrub a few years later . took her to the vet who diagnosed terminal kidney cancer. She wouldn't come indoors and slept under the shrub. We left food and water out for her but one day we found her under her shrub and she'd passed away. There has never been another cat here although dd has the 2 she and boyfirend rescued years ago and they have kept her going through the pandemic. They live on beanie just as my lovely 1st husband who died too young and my beloved dad who died when I was 15 live on in our hearts and memories.Try to rest do as little as possible and focus on the good times because as Freddie sang Those Were The days of Our Lives.Already responded to your news MN.Hope the new Mum is in the land of dreams now. Baby too and Dad relieved maybe you'll sleep better too now the waiting is over.Take care all you turtles.polyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.9
