A basketful of problems for electric car drivers: Study finds that two in five supermarket charging points are out of order or have connection issues
Analysis of public charging data found that 43 per cent of chargers located at major supermarket sites have connection issues or are completely out of order.
The study, conducted by car leasing comparison site LeaseLoco, found that half of chargers at the Tesco and Morrisons stores reviewed were not working, while two in five at Lidl were displayed as having a fault.
The analysis was conducted using charging points app Zap-Map to review the status of devices located on site at seven major supermarkets on 14 and 15 January.
I am concerned that the survey was based on ZapMap information which is notoriously unreliable (ask yesterday’s video star EVM). ZapMap’s own survey suggested only 6% of chargers were out of service at any one time. In addition many Tesco sites and all Aldi sites lacked and live status information.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0 -

I really think Tesla may be a busted flush initially in Europe - can't see how there will be enough demand for their plans for ever increasing output with so few models and only one brand - the price cut 'fiasco' where lease prices are now higher shows that there is no easy way for them to increase demand as Europe doesn't really have much of a market for 'non-premium' large cars like the 3 and y and by cutting prices they have moved out of being premium.I think....0

Finally, a Tesla Model 3 is available on AutoTrader for less than £25k and not silly miles either.Although I had been half expecting it, I was still a little surprised as I thought the rate of depreciation was slowing. Yesterday I updated the WBAC valuation on the TM3 I had been following since May when it was £43,000. I forget all the details of the car but it was a Performance version. On 6 January 2023 WBAC valued it at £27,745 and since the price cuts on 13 January it has only lost £1,450, now down to £26,295.
Meanwhile, my old 2020 Nissan Leaf 40kWh has lost a further £415, down to £13,815 (from £20,685 in October 2022).
Edit: that was a bit of a coincidence.Used Tesla prices fell £1,400 OVERNIGHT after new price drop, says Auto Trader

Used EV nerves intensify as values decline four times faster than diesel
“What we’re seeing is consumer pushback against EVs at a time when volume is starting to come into the market.”
Martin suggested that used EV value declines are a symptom of a ‘new normal’ being established in just one part of the market.
“Manufacturers are starting to deliver EVs in greater volume and, at the same time, finance repayments are looking more appealing on a new EV than they might in the used sector. It makes for a difficult part of the market for used car retailers to operate in.”
And from another article from the same source.
It said that EVs share of ad views had declined from a share of 6% in June 2022 to 4% in January as supply to the market surged from just 2% of all used cars advertised to over 6% in January.

I'm thinking the model 3 SR is a 40k car (possibly a bit less tbh) and after 3 years 30k miles should be worth about 40% of list so £16k assuming the market is fully supplied.I think....0

I read that yesterday Tesla had increased the price of the ModelY in the US by $500.

I checked to see if there had been any change in the UK price (there hasn’t) and accidentally clicked on the Business PCP option rather than personal and saw the PCP rates are much lower most probably due to a much higher final optional purchase value in the Business lease case. Why that should be, I don’t know. Maybe someone familiar with PCPs can explain.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)1 -
