But for EVs as a whole this more shows that there are now plenty of options so Tesla are just one of many.

I have white seats. You are right about the blue tinge from my jeans. Mainly on the driver's seat as it is heavily used. It can be cleaned off. You wouldn't notice it on black seats.

Update - some folk have suggested that with the seats now providing cooling (as well as heating), that the white seats may show up dirt more, as 'debris' finds its way into the ventilation holes. No idea if true, but sounds reasonable.

Just returned from a weekend trip to Great Yarmouth and we made it there and back without charging. I think that is the furthest I have ever done / dared to do. I felt confident as when we arrived at Great Yarmouth, the battery was at 54% charge. By the time we reached home this afternoon, the battery was showing as 2% charge (which the car tells me was 6 miles remaining).
Overall, very happy with the kWh/mile achieved (though <200 is my real happy place) and we had not been dawdling or skimping on anything - in fact at one point the instant consumption was shown as 1,114 Wh/mile which is very high but it all averages out over the journey.
344 miles in total is not far off the mileage range quoted when we purchased the car (370 or 380 or something like that IIRC).
Note the travelling time was 8.5 hours so, whatever the journey and however large one's bladder, there would have been natural stops that would have accommodated any charges we felt were necessary or desirable. In fact we had lunch plus two comfort stop travelling there on Friday and then lunch plus one comfort stop on the return. Plus, of course, could have charged at any time we chose over the weekend at destination.
Anyone saying the range of modern EV's is too short needs to think again :)

Very nice Grumpy. Also (you have the LR model Tesla right?) they should have 20-30 miles of range after reaching zero, though I've never tested it.
Planned to test it once after dropping Wifey off at Heathrow (as she'd tell me off, if in the car). But got home with 5% remaining (280 miles driven, so ~294 miles to zero). That's a TMY driving at ~75mph average.

I have a Vauxhall Mokka EV. I can confirm that zero is zero, there is no range left when the indicated charge reaches zero. One cold November night I thought I could just make it home and I could have in summer but I wasn't allowing for the cold weather range reduction. As the charge neared zero the car would not go above about 35 mph but I just made it to the charger about 2 miles from my house - only to find that it was not working. My local garage was just up the road so I thought I would take it there and leave it. I was just turning onto the road when the car stopped completely. I could not get it into neutral to push it out of the way but fortunately it was a very quiet road at 22:30 and I just had to wait an hour until the rescue truck arrived to tow me back home.

Yes, LR TM3.
I just worked out the cost of that journey (energy cost). Unit rate is 25.23p per kWh so 69.4 kWh equals £17.51.
Under £20, even allowing for losses in the "plug to wheel".
All of that was charged at the standard rate before and after the journey. I was not able to use the Sunday Saver free electricity which is how I normally try to manage the car charges. I am now recharged back to 80% which will be sufficient for work this week and then will charge again on Sunday for free. (The charge last Thursday before going away secured the free energy for this coming Sunday.)
As a comparator, had we taken my wife's Fiesta at 45 mpg would have been 7.6 gallons so 34.5 litres petrol at £1.55 / litre equals £53.48.
Saving using charged at home EV £35.97, or enough to pay for our lunch at a coffee shop on the way there and the way back.
Who says there is no such thing as a free lunch? 😉

I am finding 7p per kwh expensive after only paying 6p last year - but then again we use 25,000 kwh a year so getting it all at 7p rather than 6p makes a big difference….

I find it useful to remember what it would have cost me had I not switched to electrification. In the case of an EV owner, it may be helpful to remind yourself of the cost of petrol/diesel by way of comparison. In my case, as I don't have an EV but do have an ASHP which replaced an oil boiler, I include the now notional cost of running the oil boiler on my monthly spreadsheet as a reminder of just how much I'm saving, even when the cost of electricity goes up by 10%
With 25,000kWh annual usage, I hope you have a small solar farm in a field out back supplying the house?
