I'm in Hampshire and most of the council-carpark chargers near me seem to be operated for them by Mer. I've not yet encountered a faulty one. And at least Mer are (usually) one of the more reasonably priced.QrizB said:I'm in Hampshire and most of the council-carpark chargers near me seem to be operated for them by Mer. I think used as the new EVs seem quite pricey. I’m thinking we should replace the Alhambra initially albeit doesn’t need to be quite as large but not too much smaller either. Then maybe look to replace the fiesta. I haven’t looked yet but I want my daughter to learn in a manual so think it’s worth holding onto the fiesta for her to learn in next year.Grumpy_chap said:What sort of budget is @ddi considering? I’ve no clue what a transmission tunnel is. But what makes a car uncomfortable for five idle is the design of the middle seat. This photo of the Skoda Enyaq is a prime example & why I’m still driving my 12 year old diesel Alhambra (annoyingly)ddi said:

I guess all your cars have been Fwd with no Awd option? The transmission tunnel is where the propshaft that delivers power to the rear wheels resides & it's the reason why the rear floor isn't flat meaning the middle passenger has to sit with one leg either side of it.ddi said:

TBH it is in pretty much every FWD car too - think it adds strength and may make space for the exhaust/cat?1961Nick said:

I think the last time I had a Fwd car was in 1988... an Escort RS Turbo.michaels said:

Everything since has had a propshaft & an Exhaust until the Tesla arrived in 2021. 4kWp (black/black) - Sofar Inverter - SSE(141°) - 30° pitch - North LincsInstalled June 2013 - PVGIS = 3400Sofar ME3000SP Inverter & 5 x Pylontech US2000B Plus & 3 x US2000C Batteries - 19.2kWh0 -
I can't recall now the mileage profile you have, but if it suits the mileage profile, the Citroen C4 electric could be a consideration worthwhile of further investigationddi said:

My first car was a VW Beetle, which was rear engine and RWD. It didn't need a transmission tunnel for a propshaft or exhaust, but there was still had a hump down the middle of the car for the gear-change linkage and to provide some extra strength to the chassis.
