Most journeys I do are short 30 minute drives which I use my daughter’s fiesta for whilst she’s at uni. But she’s back home in Sept and will use it to commute to work. I also have a 7 seater Alhambra that’s 12 years old that I use for long journeys. This needs selling. We do very few long journeys. But we are a family of 5 with dog so could do with a proper sized cars (not one with a stupid protruding middle seat in the back) as we do go out and about as a family. But I don’t really want a big 7 seater for my 30 min drives around town & villages.0

Are you looking for one car to replace the Fiesta and Alhambra? A lot depends on your budget. If you are after a car for 5 and a dog, the Skoda Enyaq is worth looking at. If you want a small runabout, then consider the VW e-Up (or Skoda Citigo/Seat Mii equivalents), VW e-Golf or Nissan Leaf.ddi said:Most journeys I do are short 30 minute drives which I use my daughter’s fiesta for whilst she’s at uni. Another vote for Enyaq. Another contender would be the Kia EV9 but it is fairly new so may be more than you want to pay.1

Mrs QrizB has an e-UP! and it's a great little car. We took it to Cornwall and back over Easter (200+ miles each way) and only needed a midway recharge on each leg.Magnitio said:Are you looking for one car to replace the Fiesta and Alhambra? What sort of budget is @ddi considering? Is the desire for brand new or will used be acceptable?0

That is amazing as ev database quotes a 90 mile motorway range and that is with a new battery without 3 years+ of degradationQrizB said:

Isn't that the cold (-10C) motorway range? They estimate the mild weather range at ~115miles.michaels said:

We used to have a 2015 e-Up! and its quoted range was indeed 90 miles (although I never actually saw more than approx 70 miles).michaels said:

However, battery size was doubled later so 100+ range on a motorway would probably be easily doable'

One of the key elements that make a vehicle comfortable for 5 is the absence of a transmission tunnel. Many EVs still have those as they share the platform with ICE & hybrid variants.4kWp (black/black) - Sofar Inverter - SSE(141°) - 30° pitch - North LincsInstalled June 2013 - PVGIS = 3400Sofar ME3000SP Inverter & 5 x Pylontech US2000B Plus & 3 x US2000C Batteries - 19.2kWh0
