Electric Vehicles Are a Tool of Tyranny

It seems not everyone is yet on board. A rather extreme take on EVs but no doubt some in the US will upvote this.
It’s not my view but it’s out there. Please don’t feel the need to hold back, I won’t be defending the content.

All-electric Alfa Romeo Giulia will come with 500-mile range

The Giulia EV’s underpinnings will offer a minimum of 800km (497 miles) of range, with battery sizes ranging from 101kWh to 118kWh,

Sounds great - looks great - where can I order?
Will it last 500 miles before falling apart from rust? :)

I was surpised that he kept this sentence for the very end of the article - the paralells were there from early on.

Charge while you travel with new electric vehicle charging points at Network Rail stations

Thoughts anyone?  My two-penn’orth: Excellent idea if you are lucky enough to get on one but I imagine those on the early trains will hog them all day even if they only need an hour or so’s charge. Cost is I think 34p/kWh.

Rail passengers with electric vehicles will be able to charge while they travel thanks to the introduction of 450 new electric vehicle charging points at Network Rail-managed car parks at railway stations.

The charging points, powered by guaranteed renewable energy, provide enough power to fully charge a vehicle in as little as 3-4 hours.

Only one vehicle charging point every 16 MILES is hindering the adoption of electric cars in rural areas, experts warn

Numbers of rapids per head round the country aren’t that bad (Wales excepted) but in rural areas it’s the distance between chargers that is the problem. If the charger you are aiming for is busy it can be a long drive to the next one.

It kinda reminds me of a Lamborghini Aventador? (which is not a negative.)

    Lamborghini Aventador - Wikipedia
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Just registered my interest in the MG4. If it really does retail for the suggested £25K - £30K it may be be worthwhile replacing our diesel SUV? There's also mention of an awd version to follow the 2 rwd models.

I always thought £25k and 300miles would be my tipping point. Not that far off and looks OK. I assume other colours are available.

Death of woman who was struck by Tesla driver, 39, who was 'high on drugs and driving on Autopilot' when the car went airborne and hit her is probed by US regulators

If drivers didn’t have access to Autopilot/FSD then maybe the type of incidents highlighted in the article wouldn’t happen. I mentioned just a week ago seeing a Tesla driver twisted round in his seat on the M3 (apparently) working on his laptop.

One of the arguments made in defence of Autopilot in this type of tragedy reminds me of the “Guns don't kill people, People kill people” logic. People still die.
