CEL court papers

hi all, i received claim form from CEL dating from february 2020 for staying in the car park for 15min; the claim is for over 300
my appeal was based on the fact that i went to pick my daughter up who was training to join the army and was paying the fitness company who was paying the owner of the land to use it. it was dark and did not see the signs; i picked her up many times but on this occasion she was a bit late.. (i cannot remember if i took it to POPLA) does it make any difference ?
I am about to do acknowledgment  of service ( i can see that this can be done online) How about the defence not possible to do online ?
My question is this can i use this paragraph in my defence or not  "i went to pick my daughter up who was training to join the army and was paying the fitness company who was paying the owner of the land to use it"
thank you in advance

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?
To get the maximum time to file a Defence do not file an Acknowledgment of Service until at least five days after that Issue Date.

    No.  Not quite.

Because the template defence (top of the forum) is not written in the first person, as you will have seen.

No, if you read the NEWBIE sticky and the defence template, you will see that trying to submit your defence on MCOL (if that is what you were asking) will destroy the formatting and limit you to 120 lines - best do as the advice states and use the e-mail address provided.

    I'll assume that's 17th and 24th June.

With a Claim Issue Date of 17th June, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 20th July 2022 to file your Defence.

That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Writing in the third person has nothing to do with admitting to driving (which you should, in # 2, as the Template tells you).
