Givenergy woes

ispookie666 said:@vienly Well done! Which make and model did you go with?
All products can have failures and sometimes there can be multiple failures, but a measure of a good company according to me is, how they deal with faults or problems. Having a class beating or world leading warranty of 10 years is pointless if the company fails spectacularly in engaging with the end user when faults or problems occur!
I decided to go with Solaredge in the end, an extra £4k on top of Givenergy price, having their optimisers definitly helps as my panels are constantly shaded which I wasn't even aware of it. Had a few issues with their battery but they have been very responsive so far.3 -
Well.. 3 months after reporting this problem (with an intervening holiday period) - have had this fixed a few days ago.
Looks like one of the cables from the board was disconnected - possibly when the board was replaced or just fell out“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu

@ispookie666 Glad to learn you're sorted at long last. What a trial it's been and for something so basic.East coast, lat 51.97. 8.26kw SSE, 23° pitch + 0.59kw WSW vertical. Well, a year on...
a new firmware, and nothing has been fixed - maybe a cosmetic/superficial touch-up.
Over time, the battery SOC and capacity diverge and it reaches a point when the battery is empty with a state of charge of > 10, drops till the voltage hits 45V.
Givenergy just obfuscate, all of their batteries have this problem“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu

Well there goes the inverter again, looks like another board!

A week of back and forth emails and phone calls.
They have refused to send an engineer unless payment is done upfront!
A company which has previously sent engineers to fix faulty inverter are suddenly reverting to say - the installation is at fault!
If anyone is reading this, please avoid Givenergy - they are cheap for a reason!
Three times I have had to deal with the company and three times I have been left in a worse state.“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu

I wish I had read these posts before committing to the installation. I have had a solar system for 12 years and thought that it would be a good idea to add the battery and hybrid inverter.
after nearly 3 weeks after installation The battery still doesn’t work. GivEnergy cannot see it on their system so it cannot be calibrated and work as it should.
The installer coming back this week to try something else to get it to work.1 -
Update.
I had to pay a call-out fee of £120 to get an engineer out. The inverter is under warranty. This seems to be charged to the installers, which is an interesting business tactic.
I'll wait and see what else is at fault this time - Anything but GivEnergy seems to be the norm.“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu
