To be honest most cars under 20 years old should be ULEZ exempt. Very few dirty cars are going to be caught by this, what’s the problem?

I don't know what you are basing that figure on I have a Mini and a Hyundai Ix35 one is OK the other isn't one is petrol one is diesel I suggest that is more the reason.

The MADMAN of London strikes again .....

ULEZ expansion to hit 200,000 drivers next year: Motorists from Heathrow to Upminster will have to pay £12.50-a-day to use their cars

I have an old 2004 XJ V8 Jag. I googled the reg and found it was ULEZ exempt. I have also got an old Mazda 6, it too is ULEZ exempt. To be honest most cars under 20 years old should be ULEZ exempt. Very few dirty cars are going to be caught by this, what’s the problem?

Mine is also exempt in the new zone but as said, 200,000 vehicles, which has not been denied by TfL ... That is the problem

    Rest assured that
Sadiq Khan would not introduce a scheme that would not collect money and at the moment the figure is 200,000
Estimated worth £1bn and when he has spent that, it's back to government for another hand out

"Most diesel cars registered before September 2015 and most vans registered before September 2016 are subject to the ULEZ charge.

Most cars with petrol engines registered before 2001 are liable, together with some vehicles registered between 2001 and 2005.

The ULEZ must also be paid by lorries and buses registered before 2014."

Diesel cars older than 17 years and petrol cars older than 21 years

This is about a Council PCN but Newlyn Bailiffs deserve to be named and shamed for:

    (a) clamping a car that apparently had a Blue Badge on the visor

    (b) reportedly lying about a previous visit in September, called out as the old guy has CCTV footage of his visitors,

    (c) threatening him with prosecution for criminal damage for getting the clamp removed, and...

    "nearly killing him".

    Astonishing story:

    https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/woman-throws-herself-across-campervan-7865394.amp

Camper Van towed away from private land. Surely illegal under the POFA but Hampshire Police believe a tort notice signed by a neighbour, and declare it a "civil matter."

The victim has a solicitor trying to get it back (and compensation I'm sure) but the vehicle has so far been held for 2 months and is leased so it's not even hers!

I was surprised to find that a CCJ had been issued against me without my knowledge of a court case.  After a lot of searching, I found that they commenced proceedings giving a totally false address for me, to stop me being able to defend my case.

If this can be proven, it would be fraud. I wonder if he kept his DVLA info up to date ?

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"

Jeez, you'd think he'd just delivered some legal miracle.

To be fair he was intending to issue proceedings pre-emptively to obtain a court declaration that, in effect, debarred them from suing him on the grounds that the ppc had no lawful claim. That is fairly novel. Its a rarely used power: a rocking-horse-poo type claim. I've never issued proceedings on that basis.

By definition, this would have involved the court determining that £100 for a late payment of 24hrs was an unfair penalty and offends consumer law).  Those are all live issues in the correct case, Beavis is not the panacea that the ppcs like to suggest. A point that Ed Levey KC made to them.

I'm sure that his reasoning is correct & the reason that APCOA dropped the charge is that they don't want their Drop-Off Zone penalties tested in court. However for mere mortals the simple response is that it's an airport with Byelaws so POFA doesn't apply so they need to send their invoice to the driver as there is no keeper liability. Unfortunately the estimable KC committed a rookie mistake when he outed himself as the driver to both the debt recovery company & the parking company.

The signs are so obviously unfair terms as they mention a PCN being issued for non-payment of the £5 drop-off charge but don't mention that the penalty is £80.
