  • I stand by what I said about cases being swept under the carpet extremely quickly at the moment, the minute the press get a sniff.

I think the APAs (specifically looks like the BPA) are likely trying to minimise press damage at this crucial time whilst the DLUHC are preparing the promised draft Impact Assessment and Public Consultation.

100% AGREE .... there is a huge cover up going on .. BUT IT'S TOO LATE for the BPA or IPC

I'm sure the DLUHC already know about this thread, if not many of us will tell them
My MP knows about this thread and so should all MP's on all sides.

As I have said, the new code was approved by a junior minister who is now Prime Minister .... Rishi Sunak ... who should be reading this thread and back himself by stopping the UK's biggest money scam

There is no reason to delay the consultation ... what could Gove and Rishi be so scared of ???

And here's ANOTHER one cancelled by BPA nember CEL the minute a newspaper picked it up.  This pattern looks like a concerted effort at damage limitation by the BPA:

A lady and a guest both 'fined' £100 for attending her father's wake at a hotel:

"The fine was issued on November 22 and after refusing to help for almost two weeks, Shepherd Neame {landowner} has now confirmed the penalty has been cancelled."

Sadly patience is not a virtue when millions of people over the Xmas period and beyond will face £100 tickets and followed up by grubby little debt collectors

    Agreed.

But let things happen. It is not on the back burner.

And Town Councillors 'react' to station parking crisis caused by APCOA's over-zealous PCN machine operation, by burying their heads in the sand:

And ParkingEye have reportedly ruined a Leisure Centre car park - ripping off people with £100 charges for daring to drop off and pick up children - and caused their clueless client to have to apologise (what a surprise, eh?):
    https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-news/saltburn-sports-club-says-sorry-25705120.amp

"More than 800 residents signed a petition against the club's unpopular plan to enforce the charges, branding them "ridiculous" . For years families have used the site off Marske Mill Lane to park for free.

But the club, which owns the carpark and leases it to Saltburn Leisure Centre via a 125-year agreement, brought the charges in last month "to stop drivers abusing the car park."

They claim vehicles parked long-term cause chaos for club and gym members...

(EDIT - WHERE HAVE WE HEARD THAT BEFORE?)

"The club introduced a 10-minute free grace period, which it extended to half an hour. But according to one mum's post on Facebook, she entered the car park for a few minutes and was fined.

The club said each of the drivers affected had been contacted. "We have contacted Parkingeye," a spokesperson added, "as this has all been related to an issue on November 25. Parkingeye are investigating, we believe it is a glitch of some kind..

"The issues have, and are, being resolved. We're averaging thousands of users a week, unfortunately roughly 10 people have been fined wrongly."

Yeah, right.  Bet it's more than ten.

Parking Eye's McLaren supercar-driving Directors don't get out of bed for ten PCNs per day at any site.

This Okehampton station crisis has been aired here before.

And I make no excuses for repeating my comment made on 5 November at 12:33AM...

    KeithP said:
'The railway' - i.e. you, me, the taxpayer - has spent millions, literally millions, over the last two or three years re-opening the railway line from Okehampton to Exeter....
Introduction of passenger services to Okehampton

And now the exact same organisation - the wholly government owned Network Rail - has introduced a scheme which will undoubtedly turn customers away.

How to promote kill a business without trying!

  • It really is amazing that the 3 rogues above, Premier Park, Parking Eye
    and
APCOA plus the rest of the cowboys, are HELL BENT on sending government a very clear meassage .....

...that they are the money scammers and the new code of practice plus the banning of fake add-ons is 100% correct

Could it be that cowboys are turning into Lemmings
