I am surprised that EURO car parks are also hell bent on telling government they are not fit for purpose

With everything that is going on with the parking sharks, those who put up the money for a JR SHOULD CUT THEIR LOSSES .... THEY SIMPLY HAVE NO CASE

"Shoppers claim to have been fined by the car park in recent weeks, even after purchasing a ticket, due to what they describe as a complex system.

Drivers are required to remember the time they entered the car park when purchasing a ticket but have been "caught out" by a matter of minutes and slapped with a £60 fine.

Others have simply said the new system is "so confusing" it has driven them to park, or even shop, elsewhere.

In a bid to continue to attract customers over the Christmas period, Middleton 'Arndale' said it has listened to concerns and has announced parking will be free for the remainder of 2022.

Bev Howarth and Pauline Evans both said they didn't see any information about how to pay and were enticed into the car park by the barriers being up.

Their appeals against the fine were also unsuccessful with Pauline having to pay £120 for two unpaid tickets worth £1.

She said: "It seems they have taken advantage of honest people."

Melanie Lewis said she paid her fine "under duress" and believes the shopping centre is only offering free parking after "making enough off fining people wrongly".

Jeez why do people PAY?

The move is designed to make money from shoppers, for Horizon or whoever Sainsburys are using.

Another day, another £100 PCN news story where the victim has just paid (both him and his friend got a PCN.  Both rolled over and paid) without bothering to Google the scam and come here:

....err, no.  Lazy journalism. UKPC do not 'own' the car park and nor is it a fine or a fee.

McDonalds (and retail park landowners, JLL, Savills et al): kick UKPC out.  Scrape them off your shoes.

You don't need a third party ex-clamper firm at all in a retail park.  Try it without, just with your own prominent in-house signs allowing two hours.

As we all know the PPc world likes to put a spin that if you have/own a site with a car park by introducing parking controls all your parking problems will be solved, and there is no better way to empty a car park than by having a PPC preying upon your tenants customers and driving those tenants out of business as customers are scared away.

 Fewer businesses = fewer cars = fewer cars taking up spaces and lots of spaces for all
