Parking stories in the News/media

I know this was broadcast a year ago but it's a worth watching again
And government should take serious note of how Councils and private parking companies are destroying the high street and public alike
It features Barry Beavis and the ParkingEye case, and a whistle blower ex private parking company and Nicolas Bowden, a lawyer who won over £10,000 from ParkingEye
The scam racket is still happening today, infact it's worse
I guess there are some reasonable parking companies but those we see on here on a regular basis are the REAL ROGUE TRADERS AND MONEY COWBOYS

That's some appalling practice from OPS and SHAME on the IPC for ignoring the man's complaint.kryten3000 said:Scott Dixon's blog on One Parking Solution's pursuit of an cancer patient who stopped briefly while his wife posted a letter:

100% agree with Scott's view. Pity this Govt feel "the private parking industry plays an important role in supporting our local economies and high streets"3 -
If anything the private parking industry will be the death of our high streets.3

Five years on and it’s déjà vu with the same delusions of grandeur .
OPS v Mr N
[……]I find that behind the façade of robotic communications, Mr Price acts as prosecutor, judge and jury in his company’s own cause.
I found as a witness he showed no sign of engaging with the real issues, was opaque and evasive.
This is reflected in the documentation. For example, howdoes the appeal result properly engage with the defence put forward by the Defendant?
It plainly doesn’t and appears to be taken from a parking company management software device that simply generates robotic letters in reply to diligently drafted letters by those who seek to appeal.
It seems to me from hearing him as a witness and a managing director of the Claimant, that Mr Price labours under the illusion that he occupies some sort of moral high ground. This is by warding off bad parking which is a real nuisance to others.

A nudge for the MHCLG. Just a pity it didn't go in as evidence during the Consultation period!Nellymoser said:Dodgy meters and aggressive negotiations: findings from Parkers readers private car parking providers survey

EDIT TO ADD - just noticed the article is dated 22 September, so perhaps it did go in at the Consultation stage! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
