And why did Parkingeye cancel the driver's PCN after saying it was correctly issued with POPLA and BPA/IPC CoP all agreeing.
Looks like they cancelled because the driver raised the rip-off T&C with PM, relevant MPs and of course the media.

I'm not sure if this applies to all car parks across the country where the RingGo App' is in use,  but it has been reported that car park users in Devon will have to pay an additional 10p to use this App.

Changes to car park charges for customers using the RingGo app.
Please note, as from 1 December 2024 there will be a 10p charge for users paying for car parking at Torridge District Car Parks via the RingGo app. 10 pence will be added to each transaction, whatever the length of stay.
RingGo is also increasing the optional SMS reminder fee from 10p to 15p.
The increases only apply to users using the RingGo app and not to users paying by cash or with a debit card.
RingGo is in the process of changing signage in all car parks, and it is anticipated that this will be completed as soon as possible.

Most parking apps have a service charge applied.  That's how the app company earn their money, but 10-20p is worth the convenience of being able to pay for the actual length of stay rather than guessing how long you will be and paying for longer than needed.

Parkingeye's 5min consideration period in the news again.

Visitor's nostalgic visit to Margate totally ruined by receiving a parking charge for pulling in and out of a car park 11 seconds late.
Brenda Reed, 78, was visiting Kent from the USA after moving 60 years ago. She said "We were just looking for the Winter Gardens and realised we needed to go further up the coastline, so had literally stopped the car, got out, realised our mistake and drove further up."
Parkingeye said "The motorist parked in the car park without paying and therefore received a parking charge"
