Why would a BB holder need to register? do all occupants of a vehicle need to register? And lets not forget that there are plenty of people out there who have a disability (aka protected characteristic) where they may need to use reasonable adjustments, be that disabled spaces or additional time.On top of all that if a person has a BB the BB belongs to the individual and can be used in many different vehicles.I have driven vehicles with disabled people on board with long term mobility issues some have had BB's some have not, and made use of disabled parking when required, sometimes displaying their BB, sometimes not ( when they haven't had one)The only thing that a sock is needed for is to put in the mouth of the parking industry. And here's a news story from earlier this year https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2711460/Give-sites-good-banging-The-wardens-3k-bonuses-urged-bosses-issue-scores-parking-tickets-day.html
The wardens on £3k bonuses urged to issue scores of parking tickets daily, target vulnerable people and take photographs at angles to make offences seem worse
- Cowboy parking wardens earn up to £3,000 a month in bonuses, it is claimed
- Leaked emails show bosses at firms push staff to issue scores of tickets daily
- Wardens allegedly using a vile array of 'dirty tricks' to boost their pay
- Some
have been ordered to target patients outside cancer wards knowing they
are likely to be distracted and late returning to car

@Half_way you made me think of this current advert

Some of the benefits look alright too - I fancy the "Employee of the Month & Year based on ticket sales"
Wait....ticket 'sales' - surely they don't mean tickets issued...4 -

So you are accusing me of posting something but when asked to show it, you can't? Sigh...
I do agree life is too short. The parking industry wouldn't be worth a nanosecond of our free time, if it wasn't for the immense consumer harm your ilk continue to cause in pursuit of unjust enrichment.
We can't stand by and applaud whilst PPCs and their dogs tear into vulnerable people.
Nor will we give up the campaign.

You found a post that doesn't exist. AFAIK that post hasn't existed for several years.
This wasn't found by searching the forum.
Thought you would do that, which is why I asked.
Tells me quite a lot, as you will be aware. So you have that old post stored somewhere from a time some years before you joined MSE.
Most interesting.

There's only one person who obsessively collected MSE posts - a few years ago - to try to discredit me by whinging about my participation 'elsewhere'.
They failed, LOL!
The person who collected and weaponised that post is someone who can't spell my name, or deliberately gets it wrong.
Anyway, enough of these silly games.
In other news, it's apparently Scam Awareness Week:
https://www.wales247.co.uk/ctsi-warns-motorists-to-be-on-their-guard-about-increase-in-car-parking-scams
What a shame that the CTSI are warning about 'parking scams' but can't see their way clear to call out the way the IAS operate (under CTSI 'enabling' noses) with - IMHO - transparently non-impartial 'adjudicators'.

Surely you know where the use of a sock to cover plates quote came from.
We all know that ANPR scamera systems are not fit for purpose, but the faults they produce generate income for PPCs, which is why they use them.
As for ANPR scanning of individual bays, is the system capable of detecting if a person has disability who has protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010, even if they don't have a blue badge, but do have a right to reasonable adjustments under the said Act?
A Blue Badge is not the only indicator of a disability, and the absence of a Blue Badge is not necessarily an absence of a disability.
In addition, the blue badge scheme does not apply on private land, and using said badge where it does not apply could land the holder with a £1000 penalty. So why does the unregulated parking industry refuse to recognise any other indicator of a disability, and why does it insist that a blue badge must be displayed where it is not applicable and could be construed as being misuse of the scheme by displaying it on private land?
As for covering a number plate, there may be some who do this to avoid paying for parking (bilking), but if PPCs actually operated in a fair manner, there would be no need to cover number plates to prevent being fleeced by * "rogues, scammers, and bloodsuckers." *
* Words used by MPs across all parties in open parliamentary debate to describe unregulated private parking companies. *
With regards to Mister Hurley, he said whilst giving oral evidence at a hearing to the Parking (Code of Practice) Select Committee that he wants 100% compliance from motorists with regards to parking. If that did happen, PPCs and ATAs would go out of business, so in my opinion, mister Hurley was not telling the truth.I married my cousin.
