The comments on that ParkingEye retail park sum up why shopping centres are dying. People will not return after being unfairly 'fined'.

When will retailers realise this?

We now have the RAC Foundation figures they have obtained from the DVLA, showing yet another massive rise in Private PCNs issued this past year:

Also notable, is how many new PPCs have jumped on this lucrative bandwagon since 2016.

Now: "Around 177 parking management businesses requested car owner records in the year to the end of March".

Last year it was 159 companies.

Easier said than done, only one manufacturer (Metric) offers this functionality for outdoor car parks; and they are notoriously unreliable terminals.

In which case more PPCs should use the Metric kit.  Why the need for a VRM on a ticket anyway if it is not to tie it up with the PDT?  Or to stop motorists giving their unused tickets to other motorists?  Some car parks - mainly pay on exit - use VRM captured by ANPR on entry and tie it up to calculate the required payment and display it on the terminal at exit and I've seen so many different versions so there must be more manufacturers now!

Heres another one;

 Woman stung by £100 parking "Fine" after donating blood at a hotel

From the story the Hotel had been used previously for blood donation without any issues, however it appears that parking eye have installed a terminal where you have to register, as as she parked as before and didnt use some poxy terminal ( as one wasnt there)

So upon the latest visit she did as previous , only to encounter a parking charge notice.

What should have happened is that the hotel should have intervened and cancelled the parking charge notice, and/or the parking company should have cancelled as soon as it was clear that the vehicle was on site for a legitimate reason .

 Ultimatly this is the Hotels error

I know this one is Council parking but is just proves how the fools who run the councils are hell bent to destroy town centres

Next they will bleet to government for more money because there are no traders left ?
