    All with big airports nearby.
Flight delay claims clogging those courts?

That's the reason according to this post on the LPC Law website:

    https://www.lpc-law.co.uk/news/new-pd-51zc-the-small-claims-paper-determination-pilot/

Notably, the hearing centres of Bedford and Luton routinely deal with flight claims headquartered at London Luton Airport; Guildford and Staines process a large proportion of claims against airlines based at or near London Heathrow Airport.

where there is no significant factual dispute
In the case of a flight delay, there should be no factual dispute as the airport records will show if a flight took off on time but a parking case could well have significant disputes; good to see that the new N180 has an area for explaining why the defendant considers it not suitable for "on papers" hearing.

Suggested wording to answer the new question where you must say NO to accepting a hearing 'on the papers':

Manchester would be the only court where I'd have any degree of confidence in them dealing with a private parking case in an informed way.
I am not a fan of this court but I've picked a client up just by talking to people going there. Ended up doing a repossession case just by bumping into someone walking to the court !

Do you know if Stockport would be a good option over Manchester for defending a private parking claim?

Or Salford? Do you have to justify your choice? Thanks

I'd stick with Manchester Judges, based on past reports of wins..

Makes no difference IMHO in most cases. Select the court that works best for you work/home wise.
Don't forget judges work on a circuit

closest one to me is Woolwich county court, I guess i'll just add that to the form, not sure on win/loss rates there though
  • Is there any help / advice for the new E5 question on the updated N180 form? It was mentioned by @Grizebeck in the original post but not mentioned after that. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

E5 - Do you believe you, or a witness who will give evidence on your behalf, are vulnerable in any way which the court needs to consider? If Yes, please explain in what way you or the witness are vulnerable and what steps, support or adjustments you wish the court and the judge to consider.
