Three PAYG price increase July 2022

I too am in the same boat, initial request on 14/06/2022, told it will take 8 working days, didn't happen, went on chat again and told 3 working days which is today. Nothing in my account, so I will give it till tomorrow and then go back to them. Getting tired of having to chase these companies for refunds.1

ScarletBea said:@Geoff_W, I was also waiting for the refund before activating my PAC, but I just called Three (actually, I clicked on the chat button and it went for a call-back request, which they did quite quickly), and the guy there said that they only issue the refund once the PAC is activated, which the first guy on the actual chat hadn't mentioned...
So the "3 working days" when I first chatted on the 17th, meaning a refund on the 22nd, have actually just become 7 working days from today (I activated my PAC with Asda as soon as I hung up that call), meaning a refund around the 6th July...
*fingers crossed*
(note that you get your PAC by sending a free text to 65075 with "PAC <date of birth in DDMMYY format>")Yes, when my wife phoned Three yesterday, she was told that they don't issue a refund until the PAC is activated. After she had requested her refund I checked with the agent that my refund request was being processed, and he confirmed it was. Because of the huge demand by customers wanting to leave, he said refunds may now be taking up to 30 working days!Needless to say, we have now activated our ASDA SIM's, set up a payment card and applied the PAC. Fingers crossed...1 -
bjbyorkshire said:Allanr, that is exactly my timescale, I am not holding my breath for today but if it hasn’t arrived by Thursday I shall be on the chat line to them again! I think they are fobbing us off but I will wait to be corrected. Did you get a case number to quote which shows them what has been discussed and with who?
Yes I got a case number and a copy of the chat with the CS in fact I have copies of the two previous chats I had with different CS agents..

Update from bjbyorkshire,
After approx 15 working days and 3 C/S phone calls, today I received some phone credit from Three back into my bank account. Not the correct amount but some!!!!!!. I actually cancelled mine and husbands PAYG accounts and requested refunds and PAC numbers at the same time on around 14 May. There lies the reason that maybe, just maybe, the confusion has happened. We both have separate bank cards on the same account so today 4 x different amounts of money landed in the joint account. On checking the figures I see that 2 x credit amounts made up the full total of my refund but 2 x credit amounts didn’t cover my husbands. He should have received another £10 which would have made up the amount agreed initially with Three C/S. I rang the C/S line at about 6pm today and couldn’t believe it when the call was picked up in less than 30 seconds. Usually it goes to at least 25 minutes wait. C/S rep looked into what I informed him I had received. He went off line to speak to someone and when he came back we went through the whole story of amounts received, amount expected to be received, phone numbers, case numbers etc, etc, and in the end he asked me to do a screen shot of my bank account showing the incoming payments, he gave me a Three e mail address and said to send all my details plus the screen shot and the back office would deal with it within 5 working days. Flipping heck. So, next Wednesday ,if I haven’t heard anything from them and our bank account isn’t showing a further £10 credit then I will be back on the phone again. They don’t realise how very persistent an old woman with time on her hands can be. I will not be fleeced for £10:00 if I can possibly avoid it.
I do hope others have received their refunds and are finally free from Three, fingers crossed Asda mobile come up trumps and do not decide to up their rates after all this malarkey. Will report back when I have a resolution on the matter.2 -
Update:Both phone numbers successfully transferred over yesterday using the PAC. Everything appears to be working correctly, so here's hoping the credit gets repaid eventually. Btw, I can still access my My3 account but my wife can no longer access hers.1

Not sure if it was this thread but I posted I left when I was shocked to learn I was paying 10p a call.
Now with Tesco, 4p a call and cheaper texts but I hardly use the phone to make calls etc to net data never understood net data.
Changed to Tesco noted no difference in reception etc other than costs a lot, lot less on PAYG1 -

One other thing to note about Tesco is that they will be introducing roaming charges from 2023 for customers who joined on or after 16th June 2022. They say they are working on possible bundles but have no news as yet. That isn't to say that other MVNO's won't follow.

Allanr said:I requested my refund on 15/06/2022 and was told it will take 7 working days to appear in my bank account. 7 worikng days possibly is today, so chatted again to Three today who said refund will be with me in the next 3 working days.

My OH is with 3 (the original 3, 2, 1 plan) but unlike others on here she’s not had any communication regarding this increase. So in preparing to move elsewhere I’ve been looking at alternatives.
1p Mobile and 1D Mobile appear attractive until you factor in the various mandatory annual ‘top-ups’ and for a low/occasional user it can be more expensive than the ASDA plan that features prominently on here.
Anyone got an opinion as to how long ASDA will hold these tariffs?
Well I’ve have decided to jump the 3 ship. Just got a PAC code and will look elsewhere, probably ASDA. The interesting thing was the Chat Line told me they would not provide a refund on my balance. Given that its less than £3 it’s not worth the hassle as some of it will be utilised before the transfer.
Just discovered that ASDA uses Vodafone and their network coverage in my area is very patchy.
We are best served by EE, 3 or o2, so may have to go elsewhere, probably 1p Mobile.
