Anyone else thinking of giving RWG a go?
So decision time, RWG or Asda? anyone any experience?I decided to go the RWG route after whilst waiting for my Asda sim to arrive, I read that you need to top with a £5 minimum every 6 months (they no longer allow a £1 top up).The RWG sim arrived quickly and worked well in my phone with the free bundle already active.I intend to port my number over from Three to RWG early next week.
OK, so Asda is off my list.
You also answered one of the things I wanted to know, which was when do I need to port over my old number as part of the application, as Three was very efficient and the PAC code arrived a few hours after I asked them for the refund, I supppose I have the remainder of the 30 days.
Thanks for letting me know, I will have to remember that in mind if I get sent abroad with work.virgo17 said:I am using the RWG SIM (ukrwg1 - 100/100/750) in a dual SIM phone. I use it for the data when I am in a poor area for my primary provider.
Sorry if you already know this but if it matters to you there is no roaming on the three cheaper SIM deals :-

Is the network reliable? payment systems robust?0 -

Received a text with notification of the increases which also acknowledged it was late.My interpretation of the T&Cs is there should have been 30 days' notice. From the "Old" PAYG T&Cs (appropriate for 3-2-1 customers)1

Geoff_W said:Update:Both phone numbers successfully transferred over yesterday using the PAC. Everything appears to be working correctly, so here's hoping the credit gets repaid eventually. Btw, I can still access my My3 account but my wife can no longer access hers.Update 2:My wife received her full refund on 12 July, roughly 14 days after requesting it. My refund has not happened so I rang Three this morning to chase it. It seems that, because my last topup was so long ago (2014!), they didn't have my bank details. So having sorted out those details, I might get my refund in 7 working days. Fingers crossed.0

I'm waiting for an ASDA PAYG SIM, but requested the refund yesterday and it's still on the balance when calling 444. I assume that will go to £0 when it's started to be processed then a few days after that it will go back to the card.

So after 6 chats chasing the refund of my now closed PAYG account, I have been given an explanation of why I wasn't getting it...Three are only refunding credits bought after 2020. Customer Support told me that followed by the statement that my last topup was in April 2021. You couldn't make it up!When I pointed out that 2021 came after 2020 on my calendar, I was transferred to Customer Relations (I've already had discussions with Complaints and a manager). They now say they are refunding my £5 plus another £5 as a goodwill gesture, to make up for the total credit I had. It will of course take 3 working days. I got in first with that by saying "Don't tell me, let me guess... it will take 3 working days".That is the first time I've heard 2020 as a cut-off date from their book of lies.

I phoned Three yesterday after 3 times they lied to me on Chat about getting my refund. They have opened a complaint and promised me yet again a refund in........ yes you've guessed it, 3 working days! The balance is still showing in my account 24 hours later which will presumable be shut later today as my number is due to be ported over to RWG later today. What a shambles of a company Three are.0

Yes, Three are full of lies, my advice would be to take it to the ombudsman at enquiry@ombudsman-services.org. You can use the lies Three have told you as an attempt to mislead you.

Two weeks later and nothing, I decided to get them on chat again.
I put as subject "update on PAYG refund" - oh surprise, no one is available, please try later, etc etc
I try again, this time with subject "update on previous enquiry": suddently I'm on the queue, no problems *roll eyes*
Apparently they sent me a SMS today (didn't get it) saying that it's now being processed and I'll get the refund by Friday.
Not holding my breath but not giving up...Being brave is going after your dreams head on1
