Qsk,  you seem to have struck lucky,  I am waiting for my refund since 14/6.  Got PAC by text and ported number without issue but 2 phone calls and many promises but no refund as yet.

I am please with the Vodaphone signal so far.  It seems better than three in my area although I wouldnt use the phone at home as we have free calls with our Talk Talk landline so it remains to be seen how good the signal is when we are away from our home area.

Interesting that you have received your refund but are still able to use your Three sim.  If you use it for another couple of weeks will they then ask you to pay for what you have used?

Just phoned 444 and my balance is still there even though they have issued the refund. It's only 8 quid so can't/won't do anything about it.

Morning qsk, not sure I quite understand.  If you have received your refund how can you still have £8 left on your account.  A refund should have taken your balance down to £0.

I don't understand it either. My guess is that this refund is not through the normal automatic procedure but requested manually. The CS rep probably forgot to remove the credit after requesting refund.

I guess you could try to spend this "bonus" balance using a premium text message (before you action the PAC). Donate it to charity or enter a competition.

My experience: I can't get "Chat" to work so I phoned them on 18/06 requesting a refund and PAC. They asked for my bank account details and issued the PAC via a txt message there and then. The refund reached my bank on 24/06. My Three line is still active atm. I will PAC out next Monday as the system only works on weekdays.

I too, can never get the online chat to work - the 'Start Chat' box is always blacked out and does nothing. So I grabbed a screenshot of my account and then rang CS on 333 to request a refund, which they said would be in my bank in 7 working days. I then used my phone to request a PAC which arrived as a text within a couple of minutes. I already have my Asda SIM and the new account is set up, but I won't activate it until I have got my refund (hopefully). My wife, who is also with Three PAYG, has yet to request her refund but she'll probably do that in the next day or so.

@Geoff_W, I was also waiting for the refund before activating my PAC, but I just called Three (actually, I clicked on the chat button and it went for a call-back request, which they did quite quickly), and the guy there said that they only issue the refund once the PAC is activated, which the first guy on the actual chat hadn't mentioned...

So the "3 working days" when I first chatted on the 17th, meaning a refund on the 22nd, have actually just become 7 working days from today (I activated my PAC with Asda as soon as I hung up that call), meaning a refund around the 6th July...
    *fingers crossed*

(note that you get your PAC by sending a free text to 65075 with "PAC <date of birth in DDMMYY format>")

My OH is with 3 (the original 3, 2, 1 plan) but unlike others on here she’s not had any communication regarding this increase. So in preparing to move elsewhere I’ve been looking at alternatives.

1p Mobile and 1D Mobile appear attractive until you factor in the various mandatory annual ‘top-ups’ and for a low/occasional user it can be more expensive than the ASDA plan that features prominently on here.

Anyone got an opinion as to how long ASDA will hold these tariffs?

Well I’ve have decided to jump the 3 ship. Just got a PAC code and will look elsewhere, probably ASDA. The interesting thing was the Chat Line told me they would not provide a refund on my balance. Given that its less than £3 it’s not worth the hassle as some of it will be utilised before the transfer.

I requested my refund on 15/06/2022 and was told it will take 7 working days to appear in my bank account. 7 worikng days possibly is today, so chatted again to Three today  who said refund will be with me in the next 3 working days.
  • Allanr, that is exactly my timescale,  I am not holding my breath for today but if it hasn’t arrived by Thursday I shall be on the chat line to them again!  I think they are fobbing us off but I will wait to be corrected.  Did you get a case number to quote which shows them what has been discussed and with who?
