Three PAYG price increase July 2022

Well, I finally got my refund 28 days after first requesting it and 8 working days after the last time I contacted them.
I ported my number out, so my three sim is no longer registered on the network so can't tell you what the balance is on it.
Good luck to all those still waiting.

Yes, I moved numbers before getting the refund (also because the second adviser told me that the process would only start once I'd moved out), so I can no longer see my balance online.
That second contact was about 2 weeks ago, so yesterday I tried again (thanks for saying that we should keep insisting!): this time this advisor realised that my refund request had been put in the wrong queue, fixed that and gave me the actual refund ID from their systems, which none of the others had done before.
I said "oh, so I need to wait another 14 days?" and he replied that usually they get processed in 3 days.
So let's see how it goes now...Being brave is going after your dreams head on2 -

My OH is with 3 (the original 3, 2, 1 plan) but unlike others on here she’s not had any communication regarding this increase.
I was originally on the 3-2-1 rates, and when it was announced as going up to 10-10-5, I was told by a customer services rep that if I loaded it up with credit, that would continue to be used at the 3-2-1 rate. Not believing that, I asked another rep and was told the charge would increase from the date announced and existing credit would be used at the new rate, which was the case.Didn't even get a text about the new rates, just saw it on here, verified it and left for Asda.
Relative didn't get a text either, I only learnt about the increase from the MSE News article. 3-2-1 to 10-10-5 to 35-whatever is called looking for a new provider. Probably move them onto a cheap contract that can cap any extras at £0 outside of their allowance (e.g. Plusnet Mobile). They don't do so much travelling now, but the 3-2-1 at the time was great for them in the US. All good things.

SpanishBlue said:For those that have actually received a refund of their Three credit, can I please ask at what point did your Three account balance drop to zero?Did it drop to zero at about the same time you received your refund, or was there a gap of a few days in between the two events?I am supposed to get my refund by this Friday but as my Three balance is still showing my balance of just under a fiver and I suspect I am going to have to chase them up again!
I got my refund after I ported my number to my new provider, but once the enumber was ported I lost access to my Three account so I couldn't see if there as a time lag. However I anticipted losing access to my Three account once my number was ported so took a screen shot before I lost access and did receive the full refund from Three.

Have chased them through their online chat for my refund five times now. Ended up with a "manager" this time after I asked how to take the complaint to Ofcom. They did correct me by saying it's the ombudsman, but for a third time promised it would be sorted and I'd get the refund within 3 working days. The "manager" said he would personally chase it and make sure I got it. It seems the previous guy, who said he had updated all the details and I would get it within 3 working days, plus "This will be the last time you contacting us for refund", forgot to refer it to the appropriate team. They're running out of lies now!Just chasing them on principle, and because others have said they've had their refund. It's only a tenner and I'm not bothered, but it's entertaining to bug them, even if they don't understand subtle digs at their methods! They wouldn't tell me how to refer it to the ombudsman, just provided a link to their complaints procedure after I said that I'm sure people on social media will have a few suggestions.I did tell him he can update me on my mobile, as I've successfully moved it over to Asda...

Good to hear about your update Victor2. I still haven't had my full refund after what must be at least 5 c/s calls and numerous emails to them with my bank details in different formats to suit them. I also threatened them with OFCOM but so far have not received my full refund. I have plenty of time to spare these days so shall continue to hound them for MY MONEY to be returned.2

I contacted Three again today via Chat. This time I was given a case ID and was assured I would receive my refund within 3 working days and that my case was now being treated as a priority.I did say that this is the last time I will contact them via chat as I will be porting my number away early next week and if I didn't receive my refund, I would make an official complaint and take it to the Ombudsman. It does sound a bit more promising but I certainly won't be holding my breath waiting for a favourable outcome!0

Anyone else thinking of giving RWG a go?
I started on the 123 PAYG about 8 years ago, irritating, but "such is life", I have only just got round to sorting it out, I am assuming Three doesn't want people like me. I used the on-line chat, although they did make quite a few contact offers, but I would rather stay on a cheap PAYG is far cheaper for me.
The RWG deal looks OK, although for a very low user like me £5 would probably last ages on PAYG anyway (Yes, really!), so I am debating about RWG or Asda (For ASDA I am assuming the £1 top up suggested by flaneurs_lobster will work), for this reason I am kind of leaning towards RWG.
To my amazement, Three were actually very efficient and professional when I requested the refund (I have had shocking service in the past, the worst was when a sim broke, it took weeks to get me another from them, they also tried to cancel my credit before the 180 days were up on another occasion (by coincidence a few days I used the phone!), so I was expecting an argument on the on-line chat, but it was straight forward and the PAC code arrived a few hours later, I was so impressed I was tempted to stay with three (but I looked at the new prices and that feeling quickly went!).
So decision time, RWG or Asda? anyone any experience?
Also, a gentle reminder that the original text said you have until 17th July (Tomorrow) to request a refund, so if you are thinking of leaving you may wish to decide and request ASAP.0 -

So decision time, RWG or Asda? anyone any experience?I decided to go the RWG route after whilst waiting for my Asda sim to arrive, I read that you need to top with a £5 minimum every 6 months (they no longer allow a £1 top up).The RWG sim arrived quickly and worked well in my phone with the free bundle already active.I intend to port my number over from Three to RWG early next week.1 -
I am using the RWG SIM (ukrwg1 - 100/100/750) in a dual SIM phone. I use it for the data when I am in a poor area for my primary provider.
Sorry if you already know this but if it matters to you there is no roaming on the three cheaper SIM deals :-
