At some point access will likely be cut off. What you really should do is use an up to date email client. Then you will have no problems accessing your email accounts. You say you have lots of email folders in Live Mail so you need to keep using the software. This is not true. You can transfer them all across to other email clients. Some may have a facility to automatically transfer the email. You can do it manually as well:
- Create suitable folders on your hard drive.
- Select all the mail in one of your email folders
- Drag and drop it to the relevant folder on your hard drive.
- In your new email client create suitable local folders
- Drag and drop email on your hard drive into relevant folder in new email client.
- Email transferred!
I use Thunderbird and eM Client for my emails. They both work well.

I've been using Thunderbird for more years than I can remember - it's never let me down yet and is regularly updated
I used thunderbird for gmail a few months ago and it stopped working after about a week. I don't know why but after inputting my password it says that mozilla firefox wants to access my google account so that thunderbird can get access to my google emails and that I can either deny or allow. But ffter I allow it nothing happens. As I said, it did initially work for a while but I decided to use an ancient version of outlook(from microsoft office 13) to see if a different client could get my google emails and that worked straight away and is what I am currently. I still use thunderbird but only for my other ntlworld emails and have given up on trying to get it to download google mails.

I must be stupid then cos I have no problems using thunderbird, mind you I don't use Windows 7 and WLM 2012 either @derrick

OK not sure what I have done, (turned off 2 step verification, but I did that before and it did not change), and some how I have WLM working again.
Thanks for the input, but for those that go on about not using WLM 2012, I am a creature of habit and don't change things for the sake of change, I am running a 26 year old car, it works and until it stops I will just run it into the ground.

derrick said:Re no support for WLM 2012, that may be the case but here we are 10 years on and counting and still working, it is Google that is creating this problem by removing access to WLM 2012 which is working as it should.

Google are doing this for a very good reason - vastly improved security. It isn't Google's fault that the software you are using has not been updated in 10 years. My point is WLM does work, (for me at least, and probably a lot of others), despite no updating for 10 years, Google is my enemy.Google should let people decide for themselves.
