That is the first time you mention that you are coming off a fixed tariff. Even for the April cap a more than double the old direct debit is normal.

The £131 starting in August are spot on even with the £400, but only if you change from E7 to single rate.

    Two month £131 = £262
    10 month @ £185 - £1850
    -----------------------------------
    Total                          £2112
    Government grant    £ 400
adjustment summer £ 100 (adjustment for less use in summer)
    ===============================================
    Total                           £1612
    monthly direct debit   £134.33

Where is the 195 coming fr?

On your usage £185 seems about right but will be lower after the £400 is allowed for.

Just calculated your cost at the old October SVT.

Have you come off a fixed rate? Even at the old unit rates and single tariff you would have been underpaying. Cheaper single rate would have needed already £90 per month.

If you really got a credit while paying £76 per month the usage you posted can't be right.
Fixed rate end end of August. The figures i posted are off my bill.
I calculated your electricity bill using EDF's current SVT rates so the figures won't be accurate, but it's still likely that E7 won't be best suited for you.

From the "new cap" rate I posted earlier for you. Gas plus 60% and electricity plus 45% as per Cornwall-Insight prediction.

Might of course be different in the end, but Ofgem and Cornwall both expect a new cap of £2800 to £2880.

Controversial here it goes barring all the other amounts offered the £400 could have only gone to council tax Bands A-D as I still believe people in band E and above have choices they can make to downsize from a larger property where they would save on Council Tax, running costs and more. They choices than the lower bands.

We are a Band E and we have choices, tough choices to make but we have them.

Lots of us don't have real choices to move. I live in social housing in a band F house so I miss out on the council tax payout. And now you tell me I should move. Honestly it's annoying enough seeing people here say that we shouldn't be given the pensioners £300 without being told to move house.

Yes you have to cut your cloth according to budget if the £150 is of concern to you. A Band F house where we live is £700 a year more in council tax alone. In Energy costs you could quite rightly assume a band F (more ft/M2 in size) costs more to heat etc.

The point is that a family in a Band D can maybe move to a band C house at a push but I still maintain people living in a band F house can downsize two bands down to a D, reduce a lot of costs such as council tax and heating costs and although not palatable at least they have that option.

If in social housing maybe a mutual exchange and tenancy transfer could be an option.

I forget how long ago this was posted and the context but it's certainly taken you ages to respond.
