  • Funny you mention the eczema, mine has recently come back. I used to have a patch in my left elbow crook as a child. I now have a small patch on the right. I just assumed I was overdoing the dairy. And ok the stress.
I never used to get migraines but then I always had autistic joy and running away from my problems before 🤦‍♀️

Currently eating a takeaway breakfast. Had a momentary twinge at the cost but then figured that a filling breakfast and snack for later is probably better than going down for the count again.

I am not so much hungover today as turbocharged. There is a whole house to be cleaned before family visit tomorrow evening and I am taking advantage to make sure I can throw away as much as possible
  • Dad seems to have relapsed a bit. In that awkward worry stage with Sister Act deciding to come tomorrow. It feels like quarantine all over again.
Have been wafting about the house today working a bit here and a bit there. In my own room I now have a desk area, a walk-in storage closet, a reading nook and my bed. Oh and a yoga mat space for exercise.
In the rest of the house, most of the stuff on the floor in dad's room is off the floor and a space clear beside the bed. I bought a small hand drill to help me put castors on the chair etc but it took an age to charge so that is for tomorrow. Teacup's tv needs to be sorted as it is mutant and needs to be on a smaller table or the wall.
    Teacup cleaned the kitchen.
Sister Act's bed been hoovered and half the floor. Wall still to be washed and travel cot set up.
Living room to be done tomorrow.
Car seat installed (to be double checked tomorrow).
    And my tea zone 😀

    Your room zones are excellent

  • I'm thinking I need a tv watching zone also. Just don't know what that might look like
  • My room is still a work in progress. I have done enough in the house to pass for a week's family visit but not enough to make it easy to maintain over time.
Dad is due to get another new chair as the OT thinks the one he has been given is not supportive enough. I am a bit unnerved by the new creature which is called a Tilt n Space wheelchair. It is very very medical looking. But then appearance isn't everything I suppose and if Dad can manage better with it...
So any more house clearing will wait until both the new chair arrives and the family visit is over. I am thinking of taking this week as a break to just relax and play with the baby (while everyone else in the family is sick so I get him all to myself mwah ha ha).
I suspect my wish to do this will last until I recall quite how loud and energetic he is.
I think I may end up going round the house to make a list of things to be done. A snagging list.

Hi WD - have you tried taking photos of what needs to be done - perhaps a section at a time - and then just taking an after photo each time so you can see progress? I've been trying to do that more recently.

I looked up the chair - there are a few models and they do indeed look very technical but I can see they are probably also supportive.  You might end up borrowing it!

I'm the last person to advise on tidying but it sounds as though you've made big inroads already. I hope you get some space to yourself during the visit.

  • "I thought we only came here for the free childcare".

    Brother in law and sister.

    Wow. Just wow.

So far I have vomited. Dad has vomited. A man had a heart attack outside the house next door.

Physical meltdown, you were right Cranky.

So taking it easy today. As easy as I can with nephew and looking after dad (with help).

They were joking - weren't they? It all sounds as though they are out of touch with the strains affecting the household. Perhaps it's time to hand over care for an afternoon and say 'Your turn, I'll be back at tea time'?

  • Joking ish. They got a crash course in this household as dad has been in bed ill with various ups and downs. Sister wanted to send him to hospital and I said no. So I'm in trouble for that. And probably other things as well.
