Wrote a big long post this morning only to discover that I had been logged out on my phone and it has now disappeared.
The big news is that new mattress escaped customs and arrived a week early! I have a bed! Rejection plank of doom is now awaiting surgery to become a chair bed. Waking up without sore shoulders for the first time in over a year 🥳
The day went by in fits and starts mostly. I found myself climbing back into bed (into and not onto thanks to SOFTNESS) to watch full episodes of hoarders in between bouts of sorting. There isn't much unnecessary stuff left in my bedroom, the sorting is now more making it usable day to day.
This week the plan is:
15 mins a day in Heavy's room
Review Cronometer data on 23rd
Look to see if a job is feasible
Put together dad's instruction manual
Starting to plan flat project. This includes floor plans and grant research.
Enjoy my new bed
Get dad feet checked (Tuesday)Get blood tests (Wednesday)

Thanks SH and KoK.
New mattress combined with new duvet makes cosy little nest. I've not tried a wool duvet before quite impressed with how warm it is.
Life skills fail this morning. Had to take socks out of the laundry basket to wear today 🤦♀️ Bacon was suspicious looking so wound up with breakfast of toast and mandarin slices.
Got through dad's podiatry appointment with minimum frazzle. Gonna be realistic about my limits today and just order food.1 -
Bless - we all have days like that. Interesting meal concoction...

Once again a plan went awry. I did not do a review of my week eating yesterday. Partly because dad is sleeping like a newborn at the moment but also due to fatigue from work.
Ate a purple carrot today and looked like I'd been on the red wine.
The €500 cost of living payment arrived! And swiftly departed for foreign shores. My money travels more than I do.

Currently sitting in the car outside lidl with a cup of tea. I've been granted an unexpected day off, Teacup being in a good mood as she is off for a week tomorrow.
Credit card payments have all been made, minimums with a small bit extra. I'm giving myself a bit of wiggle room as I haven't bought any Mandatory Overblown Holiday gifts yet.
Doc gave me my prescription for 6 months so popped into a different pharmacy on the off chance and saved myself money. And the irritation of going to the horrible local pharmacy.
Oh the excitement of going to lidl for the first time in ages. I forgot how much I love food.
Dad goes to respite on Monday all going well. I don't have a lot of faith in the place he is going, seeing as we had to phone them twice on Friday because we hadn't received any admission information. Hopefully they're better at caring than they are at organizing. I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll be ok with it. I've come to the conclusion that it's a break from the job of caring for dad I'm getting not a break from dad.

I hope it sets your mind at rest that the carers are usually way better than the admin..

It's bound to be an adjustment. Have you anything planned for your respite days off?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
