It was just a 4 hour induction shift, each resident has their own binder for personal care and MARS etc which they did show me.

We do not have police checks Cherry we have the PVG scheme. I have a membership number already.

ETA Also I currently work for royal mail 🤣 Our security checks are more intense than regulated work with adults and children.

Ah, that makes sense! I forgot the system is different. Very sensible to have something transferable - I have lost track but I think I have three DBSes currently (and no crimes, I hasten to add).

Yesterday was a day and a half. Roiling emotions in the morning- couldn't even take my bike to the laundry machines without panicking. Which was annoying because I had packed up everything including my sheets and pyjamas 🤦The final straw was discovering the caterpillars on my kale. All 7 of them. So I ended up escaping into town to go see the book fair on a ship that is docked here until Tuesday- not worth it really as it was full of people but glad I went nonetheless. Went to the shopping centre and got some cheap art supplies and then lunch. As I was beside the bus stop I got the bus to one of my favourite walks beside the sea. My legs have been sore this week so I wasn't going to do it but weirdly they stopped hurting and I got all the way around.

Got home to the mess I had created in the morning moving stuff around and discovered random patches of mould. Parts of the bookcase and a toiletry case under my bed just mouldy for no apparent reason. The one under my bed was annoying as it got on my mattress so had to take that off and wash it. Which was not successful. So that is one for the big machine at the petrol station.

Now have plans for a big clean this week- it should be interesting as I have another induction shift tomorrow. I can't figure out the time off needed for the day one I have to do so that will be another challenge for this week.

That does sound overwhelming but you're doing great bothering to go to nice things and investigating ways to improve your home. Identifying and taking steps to deal with mould is a big win!

It has become slightly scary how I am becoming inured to the things I hear at work. It has me wondering where the line is and if I even have lines anymore. A colleague received a year's driving ban and has kept his job. Part of me thought karma when I heard this- it is the same colleague I suspected of lying about the van damage. A more sympathetic part of me thinks they would find it very hard to get another job yadda yadda.

It did occur to me today that what I am looking for is clarity, not just the how and what I am doing but the why behind them.

A mildly productive evening has been had. I have made a start on the giant pile of stuff in the living room, sorted seeds into containers (old fruit containers that are the perfect size) and done some online work. Now for the hard part of thinking and planning. Not much else can go now without some kind of strategy for where I'm going to be taking my life.

I bought a new hoover and so the old one has gone outside with a sign saying free to take away. It still works but it is a Dys0n and I absolutely hate it. Its so cumbersome and thus I never use it.

I also got a sensory compression sheet- I tried it last night and I'm not sure about it but I suppose these things to take some adjusting to. I think it may be sensible to get some kind of mattress topper to help with sleep- I've noticed that the memory foam makes me feel quite uncomfortably hot.

It has taken four slices of toast to recover from cleaning my air fryer. JK I was indulging myself. I'm just cooking a gammon in the air fryer and it really needed cleaning first.

Plans for the evening include continuing to clear out the ginormous pile in what was the living room. I had to wait until the recycling bin was emptied to get rid of more cardboard. I've also thought a bit more on my strategy of what I'll be doing going forward which is helping with ideas of what to keep and what to remove.

New hoover opened and an attempt made at hoovering. Dumped a load of OSB and old wood outside but lost momentum quite early on so not entirely sure I got it all. Surprisingly no takers for the hoover so I put it on olio and instant response.

Just waiting for the bus and then it will be return library book, get to health food shop and obtain some sort of food before my shift.

Olio person has been and gone that was very handy. Picked up Castile soap from the health food shop, £15.99. Pricey but it does for laundry detergent and hand soap and lasts for months. If I ever get round to a grey water system, it will do for everything else as well 🤣

Just heading into work now, first shift when I'm not just following someone around eek. Knackered after driving around all day with a new.person who Talks. Feel a bit shell shocked

Great productivity, a hoover is a very useful thing space-wise to have got gone
