That made me think of Bridget Jones…

Impressive total (I am not to be trusted where books are concerned, either, especially oldish ones. I own a well-used copy of The Radiation Cook Book).

I don't think I ever got that far into it, hence it going into the wob box.

Pip you are welcome to it- I think I can manage without the 10p wob are offering. And it would use up some of the stamps I got from work 🤣

I blinked at radiation cookbook but then realised (I hope) that it was for microwaves. Although the vision of Chernobyl inspired cookery...

    It's available on Open Library:

The blessings of a good thick skirt by Mary Russell | Open Library

The 'Radiation Cookery Book' is a 1935 gas cooker promotional book. I'd share a photo but I can't get it to resize or remove the location… used to be able to do that so perhaps the text editor has changed permissions?

Cardboard mountain has been reduced to cardboard hoard, ready to be used in the garden. Annoyingly have also ended up with various bits and bobs of polystyrene. Have googled it and think I will use it to insulate something, perhaps a plant growing thing.

Have finished the first half of my working week and have genuinely spent the day arguing myself out of handing in my notice. It did not help that I was on a job which is all stairs on a hot day.

Back at my sister's, cycled there from work which was surprisingly enjoyable. Part of the route is on an old railway line converted to a path and it is so pretty this time of year. I may however be bent double tomorrow after all that exercise.

It did occur to me that it was the PM eating all those carbs this last week. Sadly this did not translate into preparation or anything.mad.like that 🤦‍♂️

A week back to work and my head feels like it's been in a blender. I've done an hour and a half overtime over the week and now I'm sitting in my sister's house looking out at a rainy evening.

Various bits and pieces done over the week. Decided that yesterday was a rest day and ended up in bed at 7.30.

Today has been an interesting day...

Am over at the sisters to be an extra pair of hands as the baby has chicken pox. Which has colonised his head so is rather unfortunate looking.

After a 5.30am wake-up (nobody's fault just an early start) I wound up walking around the garden in circles after the baby fell asleep on me.

Then the older two disappeared off and the baby went out for a walk with BIL so I was on my own. Felt like I should be doing something so I emptied the dishwasher, cleaned the high chair and table and vacuumed the downstairs.

I found a course online that offered financial aid so applied for that and did other bits and pieces online.

The day is a vague blur of feeling like a spart part until a pigeon flew into the upstairs window and scared the daylights out of me. I thought my nephew had fallen out of bed until I looked out the window and saw the bird.

Internet had suggestions but I suspect bird is a goner seeing as there is a bird shape on the window 🤦‍♂️

After that I decided to give up on the day.

I feel like I shall wait for a day without a dead bird in it to implement the 6.30 pm anxiety rule.

It has disappeared, I am asking no questions.

Not quite sure how I ended up in the same chair at the window in my sister's house again, but I'm sleepy and the effort of getting across town on the bus may have played a part. The lure of comfort too much for me.

Small progresses made in various areas.

Well done for small progresses, it's quite an achievement while nursing chicken pox.

Decided to get a different bus to sisters for Thursday childcare. Also decided to not faff around washing self and getting proper dressed and just put clothes on over my pyjamas. Just had a cup of tea, toast and left. Minimal assault on senses, minimal use of exec function.

Bit of a spendy day yesterday, bought a 24cm pan £18 and then accidentally went into the Oxfam shop while at work and came out £10 poorer in pounds and 3 books richer. I did only go in for a mug.
