Debt and Caring

I baked a fruit cake a few weeks ago. I couldn't stop eating it. I won't bake another unless I am expecting lots of people! If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I baked one earlier in the year DIA and froze it in pieces. Had the bonus of warm cake when I microwaved it to defrost it. Although it was not a traditional fruit cake recipe, it was I think a vegan recipe. It was very nice just more cakey and perhaps better suited to freezing.
Halloween event today during which I managed to walk into a beam. The boys had fun though and I ate pizza so all is well.
Didn't even attempt to leave the house afterwards and ordered my shopping via the Roo of Deliver. In an attempt to avoid scurvy I have just ordered stir-fry veg, meat and noodles for the next couple of days.
Today's expenses included the tea round (12.95), food shopping (39.76) and then photo gifts (35) which are for various birthdays and Xmas. It's amazing how the guts of £100 has just flown out into the ether. Admittedly I did get rather a lot for it.
You definitely learn the value of money doing work where every minute is accounted for.5 -
Did I buy vegetables to eat yesterday? Yes. Did I eat vegetables yesterday? No.
I've reached that point of tiredness and boredom where I could not do another responsible thing if you held a gun to my head. So yesterday was a binge day of beige food and sugar. Today I have vegetables.

What about soup? Then it is there when you are tired and CBA
You could even take it in a food flask for work?If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I did think soup at one point. I just didn't like any of the flasks that were available to buy at the time and didn't want to end up with another kitchen gadget that I don't use.
Also still finding it difficult to prioritise really.

Started my day thinking negative thoughts about the bar of soap being messy and annoying. It redeemed itself however when I ran out of shower gel and it came to the rescue.
Full on child care day yesterday, not much achieved otherwise.3 -
But a bar of really good soap is one of life's little luxuries...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

The soap will come in handy this evening. I've just spent two hours trying to clear the allotment so I can hand it back. The best I can say about it is that I did it and only fell once 🤦♂️ I imagine the next plot holder cursing my name when they encounter all my bodges.
Sad though it is, I like the idea of being an allotment person more than I actually did any allotment work.
I bribed myself to go with a KFC cookie and promised myself fish and chips if I did it. And I got three books in the charity shop on the way home where I had the rather pleasant thought that at least now I can spend money on what I actually like.
