Feeling the urge for a stolen day. Must resist.
Out and about earlier than usual this morning, I'm determined to get a coffee. Free with points. However the fact that it is in a Sainsbugs and I have insufficient lunch will mean it costs approximately £10🤣
Hard to believe it is time to be thinking about November already. I need to calm my brain down enough to get thoughts out of it.0 -
What all thoughts out of your head? Scary

Enjoy your coffeeIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Wish I had read your post this morning so I could dive across you in slow motion going 'nooooo' to the supermarket spendy temptation 😂1
-
Ha not even that would have stopped me Pip. Although I will now enjoy a mental image of that.
Not all the thoughts DIA, I'd need an excavator.
Does anyone have any suggestions of must haves for moving back to the flat? It's looking increasingly like I will be 'camping' out there for a bit while I figure out plans.
I'll be in one room about 9 m2.1 -
Well you remember the image for next time 😂
What does the room have in it/do you already own that can be put there? And what facilities does it have, eg working radiator, enough plug points etc1 -
Extension lead, sandwich toaster or toaster, kettle, perhaps a free-standing hob, storage tins (in case there are mice or insects around), hand held vacuum cleaner or dustpan and brush, clock, something to listen to (radio or TV), reading matter, something to provide heat (hot water bottle), notebook and pen for planning and remembering and making lists... perhaps an expanding rail like a shower rail so you can hang clothes. Towels and tea towels. Sleeping bag or other bedding. A couple of cushions or pillows - being comfortable will make a big difference. Something to cover windows. A torch and light bulbs! Cups, glasses, plates, bowls, cutlery, saucepan, measuring jug (you don't need scales if you can measure in a jug).
How will you keep food fresh? Is there a working fridge? What else is already there?
A plant or several. I find having another living thing sharing the space makes a big difference. Also a side light or fairy lights - for usefulness and for atmosphere, and possibly candles if you like them.
In terms of cleaning - bin bags, afore-mentioned dustpan and brush or equivalent, mop and bucket, washing up liquid and washing up bowl, bleach, anti bac spray if you use them, ditto glass cleaner and cloths or sponges. Perhaps some sort of trug to keep them portable. Think what laundry you will need to do and how you will do it. Carrier bags and sticky tape make life easier. A clothes airer or washing line and pegs.
What's the bathroom like? If you have a working bath or shower, remember to treat yourself to products for these, and possibly a bath mat too for when you step out.
One room 9m square sounds really big to me. Is there a way you can divide off a sleeping section?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

For some reason I forgot to mention something to sleep on, and some shelving, even if it's just planks on bricks.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Somehow fish and chips found their way onto my dinner plate last night. Nothing like an overpriced plate of beige comfort that wrecks your sleep and gives you indigestion.
Having a foul time this last week with emotional overload making everything seem ten times worse than it is and stealing valuable brain resources.
Three people have quit at work this month. It is putting the idea of leaving front and centre which is not ideal. Although I did read on someone else's diary that the idea of having an escape plan can be enough so I am formulating. After Christmas I will ask about the possibility of changing my hours. The answer to that will be a factor in other decisions.
Did the monthly paying of the bills at least.3
