I do find myself wondering about people's lives in this job. Like what circumstances allow you to be home at various times of day wearing nothing but shorts? Or why did you think it was okay to answer the door in your briefs? Yup that also happened.
Probably best not to ask too many questions.
Only did an hour and 15 minutes overtime today, don't know what to do with myself. I managed to go out on my first delivery run without my food bag, that was horrible. I was so looking forward to that bacon roll.
And I even made proper sushi rice for lunch.
Gutted. Not eating also made me a tad clumsy. I banged my elbow and managed to make it bleed 🤦‍♂️
Caught up eating all my food now and just lying on the bed not doing anything. Probably get under the weighted blanket for a while with a hot water bottle.
Although there are many things I would like to do with my time, my priorities have to be what I can do now.

1 hour plus 15 minutes plus 30 minutes=... Several fingers and my tongue later I have successfully updated my overtime spreadsheet. Clock maths is not my friend.
Although it was a more gentle day at work today so I was happy enough to cook when I got home. On my second attempt at making sushi rice.
I'm thinking that my treat to myself will be a Japanese cooking pan that makes things in small ball shapes. For no other reason than I think I will have fun making random things.
The electrician comes tomorrow to hopefully quote so it is all getting very real now. I can't imagine living on my own again after all this time. I'm looking forward to not getting any buses for a while.

    A rice cooker?

No rice cookers will be entering my orbit. I'm not entirely sure I can even eat rice without unfortunate side effects. The sushi rice was a test on my digestion

Oh dear, that doesn't sound nice. DH and I are both fine with brown rice but not white, does that make any difference in your case?

Ar, sorry rice had a bad effect. Usually rice is bland and recommended for upset tummies. It wasn't reheated was it?

To be fair it could be over eating the rice that is the problem. Portion size after a day of working can go a little astray.
I don't really have time for brown rice, or the chewiness of the texture.
My eating has been hit or miss over the last wee while anyway. My consumption of fruit cake probably doesn't help.
I'm thinking I will try and build up to eating more nutrient dense foods over the next wee while.

Top tip for brown rice - cover it with boiling water (double the water to rice ratio) before you leave for work and it will only take 20 minutes in the microwave. It's slightly less chewy, but not completely chewy-free.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

I too struggle cooking brown rice (give me basmati any day!) but I get betterish results if I boil it and then steam it for a bit. I do like bulgar wheat as a healthier grain but its pricey for the amount you get in a bag.

But fruit cake sounds infinitely preferable tbh 😂

My fruit cake obsession is alarming. £7 on it just the last week 🤦‍♂️
Interesting rice information though, I will let it percolate for a bit.
