You are right there is an extra oomph from being in a cafe, ordering, engaging, finding somewhere nice to sit. I am struggling with that as I want to use my flask 80% of the time. If I get up early enough I can use the seats on the seafront that look out to sea before the cafe owners open up...must do that

Oh devastation. I had declared today a no rules day. I was all pleased with myself I was going to get delicious lemon goodness and the tea I like from sainsbugs. Only to realise as the bus approached that I left my ceramic travel mug at home 🤦♂️
Organisation exists for a reason people.
The no movement day did not happen DIA unsurprisingly. It's a long story but I ended up with three small people for about an hour. And then I looked at fridges.
The season of terrible giftedness is also now upon me and last night I started looking with the inevitable ooh I want one. It has never occurred to me that I needed a Japanese snack box before now but suddenly it is the item of my dreams.

...well a posh snack box might be a good idea if you don't forget it at home. It will save you money in the long run...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Ha not that kind of snack box DIA although I have been looking at those. There is a Japanese snack box subscription I was looking at and at $40 dollars a month it would not be especially moneysaving. However Santa may be persuaded to bring it to me.
£4 spent on feeling sorry for myself muffins and egg bites in Sainsbugs. This is day 3 (brief pause while this reminds me to update my overtime spreadsheet) of work that is physically demanding. Even just getting in and out of the van is a workout. And this morning I was just drained and quite literally going around in circles.
The big news is that I have arranged for an electrician to come and quote for work in the flat. If he turns up next week then I will have a modicum of progress.

It was sakuraco which is their sister brand apparently. And Bokksu. Although now I've looked at Tokyo treats that's three times I've tempted myself 🤣
I like the tea focus of sakuraco and the autumn themes 🤷
The travel mug comes in handy once again as smallest nephew fights sleep in the sling.

Oh dear. Went a tad overboard today:
27£ Coffee shop
27£ McDonalds
6£ Asda
=60£
Ouch.
My sister usually pays if we go out on a Thursday and that was okay when I wasn't working. But now it does seem unfair. So I did want to take a turn.
When the takeaway arrived it turned out to be entirely beige food. Which means I ordered it for comfort.
Fair enough I did need comfort.
I bought markers for eldest nephew and a scratchcard. The markers are probably the only spend I am reasonably okay with from today. The rest is niggling a little bit.
That being said, it is important to me to spend in the category of People.
I need to remember that managing my money is a learning experience and that this month can't be all about not spending.
It is quite annoying that I ran out of energy though as I was supposed to go food shopping. That is bad planning on my part as I know I get tired on Thursdays.

It seems only fair that it's sometimes your treat now you're working.
I don't know if you use the 'Too good to go' app but I've noticed they quite often do heavily discounted bags of goodies from bakery chains, might that be a MS way of bringing treats to the family?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Glad you took your turn.
I'm used to buying beige food for the beige food addicted younger ones.

I'm fairly exhausted and I know it. In real time. Recognising this is a win for me.
I'm going to add a ready meal from Sainsbugs to my food that I've packed. Which will be a treat and a necessity (to add calories).
I've been looking at the Asian treats available in the supermarket and may get something from there to support that interest rather than potentially overspending on a snack box subscription.
Added two countdowns to my month dashboard, one for the electrician and one for the dentist.
I keep thinking these are going to be expensive when the reality is they probably won't be charged out of this month's budget. Next month's pay should have close to 30 hours overtime in it.
I did use tgtg before Cherry when I lived closer to the town centre. The options are more limited where I am now. Also when we go out on Thursday it gives sister a break.
The beige food is an annoyance just now DIA. Well it's annoying all the time but now it's annoying when I genuinely want to eat nutritious food1
