Good on you for keeping going at work even though you might benefit from an escape plan. The alternative at the moment would be to return to doing deliveries or similar, so you could also do a for and against list.
Does it help the emotional overload to dump it down in writing? And sometimes it helps to ask yourself whether such and such will matter in six months, but I didn't find that helped when the answer depended on me making a decision and I wasn't sure what was best.
Keeping on paying the bills is a good indication that you are getting there in spite of things. It's tough though. I hope things start to ease soon.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Your escape plan is an excellent idea, even if you never use it you will feel more in control. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

What do you like about the job (getting fit, fresh air when it’s nice out, no transport costs, good? money, not too much social interaction?) vs hate (difficult to stay fed healthily, getting burnt out)?If you can stay clean, fed and warm camping out doesn’t sound too awful. Whilst I absolutely loathe packing for holiday I do love having less stuff to bother with when we get there.1

Sorry to hear work is being ugh. It's amazing how workplace vibes spread.
Good idea to ask about changing your hours. Does it have to be after Christmas you have that conversation?
Hopefully now you have A Plan, your brain can rest a little.

It's very difficult to describe this job, the narrative seems ever changing. Today the manager went to go pick up my colleague who is recovering from a knee op to bring him to work.
Things like that make it seem like a nice place to work.
And I do think of it in terms of brain training- it requires a lot of mental work that does not come naturally to me.
I could ask about a change in hours before Christmas but somehow I don't see it going down well 📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦
Unless people are deciding to have an austere Christmas this year. Which given that I go back to the same people multiple days a week is unlikely methinks.
I'm planning to go into the charity shop in town tomorrow if the weather suits, I'm thinking doing something nice related to flat will help kickstart the project.3 -
Could you perhaps ask now about changing hours after Christmas? At least then you would have that to look forward to.
Have fun at the charity shop. And as your sister is moving, perhaps ask her for first dibs on things they don't want to take with them.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Quick comment before I work on my actual comment. An appetiser comment if you will.
How do people feel about a pension where the employer pays 13.6% of pensionable pay?

Have gotten as far as making an origami bookmark to enable me to put October to bed in my notebook. I have also emailed the dentist re signing up to Denplan. So mildly productive.
Managed to actually complete a Sunday plan so am chuffed with myself. I did end up taking one of the small people and met up with a friend so really it was multitasking. No immediate furniture options annoyingly. Although the land of lakes had an ex display air fryer reduced to 69 which was tempting.
Thanks to the small bladder of the small human I also ended up at the flat where I picked up post and my winter jacket. I may also have slightly misjudged how much work there is to do. However that was just because it was all in my face and I was hungry. Not much has to be done immediately immediately.
Other than that planning is not going well due to a brain that is skiting about like a toddler on ice.1 -
Well done on getting some thing ticked off the list. I won't attempt to advise on pensions as I really don't understand them. Sorry. If I could offer a view, I would. I do know my pension comes out (or came out when I earned enough to contribute) before the pay got to me and that meant I didn't pay tax on it and the employer had to fund part of it, and to me those two things sound like a good idea.
I hate that thing where the brain won't let you find a starting point. Perhaps just start next to the front door and work your way round?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
