  • Not having the best week. I managed to drop LB from my shoulder yesterday and he went splat on the floor. He has been ok today apparently but I am not doing well.
It has sent me into a spiral of negative thoughts. I know it has been a stressful time anyway with new job and working so much. And pressure cooker brain doesn’t think well.
I just have to keep going I suppose.
Im going to hopefully get Christmas food and not going to think about doing things right for a while.

Be kind to yourself, you’ve had a tough 12 months from what I can gather and I don’t think you’ve really had time to draw breath yet!

When are you on leave for Christmas?

  • Its been a tough few years KK, just getting back on my feet now hopefully.

I am off Christmas day and stephens day then back to work. Have til 6th off second job though.

Bought Christmas wine and therefore Christmas Gaviscon as well as some mince pies. I used to make them but it reminds me too much of Dad still. No brandy butter in sight and a nice pudding eluded me so sainsbugs tomorrow before work it is.

  • Gentle hugs from me

Will you be spending some time in the quiet of your flat over Christmas @WelshmansDaughter? Your workload sounds good for your pocket but very full on - do you have an end date in mind for the postie job?
  • Playing while I wrap presents- have yourself a merry little Christmas by Ella Fitzgerald
Actual mood- Drain the Blood by The Distillers.

Although I’m excited to see the boys on Christmas for the first time, I’d give it all up to be having a mince pie with Dad.
We would be sitting in the kitchen with a glass of red, I’d put on Fairytale of New York so he could pretend grump about it. Then I’d swap it for Carols at Kings.

I could be all emotionally mature about it and say that I’ll be making new memories blah blah but actually, I just really hate this time of year.

It's a powerful time of year for bringing back memories. Sending hugs if wanted.

  • LB is okay, you're being brilliant with working, you'll have nice time with the littles for Christmas, you have wine and mince pies (and gaviscon). Your Dad would be very proud. Mourn when you feel to and allow glad tidings of comfort and joy when you feel to x
  • I may have forgotten to mention my goldilocks battle with the duvet. A ceasefire was declared last night by the simple expediency of clothes removal (oo er) so I have slept a little better.  Am still in Drain The Blood mood.
I was tempted to buy another duvet, which would mean I have all the tog values 🤦 But it was a choice between duvet and pyjamas and the pyjamas won. Pudding has also been obtained along with brandy butter. Unintentionally spent £34 but ‘located’ a 4.50 off voucher and 50p off nectar (treated myself to badedas shower gel which is my long term favourite).

The job situation is at present- work both jobs for at least six months then review. In some ways I prefer having two jobs so the pressure of relying on one income is alleviated. I also have to pass a probation period. It could be that I keep on one or the other or both.

I’m on my way to work for what I suspect is a walking shift 🤦 . I’ve worn Dad’s WRU jumper to bring him along. Although if I had tried to make him walk 10 miles in December I’d have been given short shrift 😂
