I'm the same. Adore time spent with the family little one. But....also can't wait to escape. I spent significant time with little one this weekend. Yesterday was a complete joy and today was a complete nightmare  :D

  • Absence makes the heart grow fonder DIA 😂😂😂
I did spend today out, went on a long walk that started out aimless. Was worrying away to myself that they might be doing something today but then just bit the bullet and asked what their plans were. So then made my plan accordingly as they weren’t doing anything fun🤦
Ended up at the flat and RESISTED BUYING PRET!!! Personal growth win. I went to Tesco instead of getting delivery and was quite pleased with myself.
Bed has finally been put together. I could read the instructions and assembled it without any problems. It’s amazing when I think of how my abilities vary- I couldn’t even process the instructions the last few times I tried.

Well done for avoiding Pret and food delivery, and assembling the bed! You have a good point about abilities varying - I wonder if it's due to you having a relaxed time before with no pressure to get it done? And possibly being rested beforehand? And the magical moment when the instructions suddenly make sense... to me it feels like the toss of a coin whether I read them as they were intended or plump for some other interpretation that doesn't make sense at all, but is so obvious that I can't see past it.

If you find out the key to reading things as they were meant to be read, bottle it and patent it. Some of us could do with some and you could make a fortune!

When it comes to dealing with those letters you mentioned, would it help to write yourself some instructions then tick each stage as achieved? You don't have to do it all at once and it sounds as though you have an idea what's in them.  Remember if you can contact the senders and start a conversation, it's better than maybe leaving them thinking you're not bothered.

Long walk sounds nice, by the way. It's been good walking weather here too - not too hot but comfy.

  • I’ve read the letters and dealt with the most pressing. Or attempted to anyway, emailing the council is a bit hit and miss.
My next step is to stabilise my outgoings so I can actually pay them every month. Then I’ll calculate the arrears as well and make a plan to make payments.
I’m reading an interesting book called Willpower Doesn’t Work, it does make some good points. A big part of how I’m dealing with demand avoidance is to understand what I do actually want.

Well done for starting on the letters, that's a big step. I haven't read the book but I'll look it up, it sounds as though I might find it useful.

  • It’s an easy read Cherry.

Today’s plan backfired hugely. I got up at 5am to see how much I got done. Instead I ended up asleep at 1 in the afternoon and eating fish and chips for dinner. I’m drinking beer because it’s so hot here my feet are sweating even though it’s windy outside 🤷

I think it's something in the air - I am waking early then really feeling the need for sleep later. Fish and chips and beer... mmm :)

Sleeping in the afternoon, then F&Cs in the evening? A great day. No?
Hot feet, however, not so good...

  • Hot everything DIA. Had to put more deodorant on 🤦
Woke unintentionally early this morning Cherry, 5.19 am. But that is an improvement on my usual.
In balance it was a good thing as I woke up wanting to do things. But with very little brain structure to actually do them.
I did manage a phone call to the council tax people. However I got to 2 in the q before the adrenaline overload so requested a call back thinking I would have to wait till tomorrow. She phoned in five minutes and arranged a payment plan in two. It was not the ordeal I was expecting. Sadly still had the brain sude effects 🤷

  • That's a great outcome, well done for sorting it
