Do you have PBS on freesat or freeview? it's non stop documentaries. sometimes they will show a whole series in one day - like the one on jazz or the civil war. Now I know you said no murders and what's war but a lot of that. But this is such a good series that even me, who isn't really interested in history, wars or the US have found it fascinating. it's the great voiceovers by major actors, the great narration, and the music that underlies the rest that keeps me listening. And the photographs from a period nearly 150 years back are astounding.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I've been wondering for ages what it looked like over the top of that hill. Turns out it was just more hill.
Although a glimpse of sea view and a fabulously creepy shack which is almost entirely grown over.2 -
Thanks @Brie.
We don't have freeview here but I'll check if we have that channel. I don't usually watch the tv in the house!1 -
Bit of a surreal evening. I wound up following the carer to our local village so he could drop off his hire bike and brought him back in the car.
Dad slept most of the day so I had a bit of free time. Liberated a plastic tub from the attic and reclaimed the giant one I had already bought. Started filling it with stuff that I keep but rarely use- travel bags etc. The attic one is now the clothes store.
Books are tidied into one shelf.
2 pharmacy visits, one walk of the dog and a partridge in a pear tree...
Still haven't quite got a final vision of the room yet but getting there. Getting better at doing a bit at a time too.
Just helping dad to sleep now and then off to watch Advanced Style. I find that I am better watching a documentary before bed if I've been stressed.3 -
Last night's plans turned out a tad over ambitious. Had time for a rice cake and rolling some clothes for the storage box before the eyes started closing.
Probably a slower day today, night was quite disturbed. The one thing I truly miss about living in Scotland is the cold. It just never gets muggy hot, in part because I'm on the coast and up a hill. Several hills.
Dublin heat is like standing in front of an exhaust pipe.
Aims for the day
15 minutes decluttering/storing
Nap if possible
Spend time with Dad if illness appropriate2 -
Glad you got sleep. Must have needed it. Well done on the organisation tooAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Slow day sounds good. I can't stand that kind of hot weather, so energy sapping. Gives me a headache too. Take it easy, if you can.2

In an unexpected twist, Dad has now tested positive. And we are starting a heatwave.
Interesting times ahead.2 -
