I think it's more of an aesthetic consideration at the moment. I don't have much stuff here really but in a small space it can look very cluttered. Franken wardrobe has overdoor hangers0 -
Buying organization products cheered me up today. Although I had originally gone out to buy a steam cleaner, I came home with four storage baskets, two rolling crates and a small magnetic whiteboard.
And no steam cleaner.
I only felt mildly bad about spending the money which is an improvement.
I think I could genuinely bankrupt myself if I was to go in the home store again though.2 -
Oh and 7.99 spent on a kindle book. Which basically articulates everything I have been thinking about cleaning and organizing.
How to Keep House While Drowning by KC Davis2 -
I think I bought that, too. Is it the one where the author has a baby to look after, also she's a bit autistic? I keep meaning to read it but haven't got round to it yet.1

Book sounds good. Great title.
I am also in a box room surrounded by stuff and about to bring in a huge piece of equipment so I can do creative stuff here at any time of the night. There is no floor space as it is...
Organisation products are needed! I hang about packers in the SM and ask them for boxes, then pack them then pile them up...
I have a steam cleaner ok, it is in storage but love it. Wouldn't be without it. I sprinkle tea tree about and clean with steam. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

@GhibliFan The author was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and wrote the book after her second child was born. It is neurodivergent friendly.
@savingholmes I would definitely recommend the book. I get overwhelmed (even when not a full time carer) and trying to do things that are not intuitive to me goes by the wayside.
key takeaway: it is not about you working for the space but the space working for you.
I already have a design in mind for my own flat based around making the space work for me.
@doingitanyway I used to get boxes from the local shops when I lived in rented accommodation and moved every 6months to a year. At one move I had 18 boxes of books.
I've been learning a lot over the last year. I clean houses and it gives me examples of what I do and don't like in real life. I did have hints of this before - I have a wheeled shoe rack that I keep my fiction books on at home.
Moneywise, being able to comprehend what I like and how will stop me from wasting both time and money buying things that don't work for me. In theory.5 -
Have decided to give myself a break this week. I went to lidl and bought 4 tubs of soup and four bags of frozen mixed veg. This takes the decision making out of the equation, for my own meals at least.
More baskets bought, my thinking was some would be for downstairs but I'll probably just keep them in my room.
Spent €3 on the dryer at the petrol station- laundry is one of my most hated life admin tasks.
Clothes are now sorted into 'uniform' and 'occasional' wear. I mostly wear the same outfit every day but every now and then I'll fancy an outfit.
Decluttering the rest of the house is not going well, had somebody scheduled to pick up a desk only for them to message to say they'd tested positive this morning. Keeping it now until they're better.
