I have contacted an architectural designer who will consult and hopefully not !!!!!! off when I mention small budget and take lots of time.
Phase 1 is to establish what it will cost to bring it up to be a blank canvas, with proper insulation etc2 -
That sounds like a really good use of your inheritance. I'm sorry again for your loss.
Before you spend this money on getting things going with your home though, have you checked with yourself in all moods that you definitely want to live in this property and in this area for the foreseeable? Don't feel you need to be super productive mse-wise to honour your Dad. That sum can go in a decent interest account you don't otherwise use while you continue adjusting (very well!) to this new phase of life x

It's great you have some extra cash to last you a while. May I suggest perhaps paying off more of the bike? Or something for the garden to remember your Dad by, as you did with the garden in Ireland?
The meeting sounds very interesting. I think one of the things with neurodiversity is that well, diversity is diverse. As in, it looks different in different people. At a very simple level, one person needs silence, another needs noise. We won't necessarily be on the same wavelength as others, but might have some similar experiences or insights.
Good to have people to share your experiences with.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Whatever the money decision will be will be. I am back in emergency mode as Very Very Small One has been admitted to hospital with breathing problems. I am looking after Small One and have already had an adventurous morning.

I hope all is going as well as it can and the rest of the family will soon be home with better news. It must be a significant help for the parents to have you to take care of small one.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Have been to see Very Very Small One who was Very Angry at being denied second lunch. This despite having a tube up his nose.
He is a proper hobbit 🤣🤣🤣
Bit of a black hole today money wise with buses and buying a giant bag of snacks for the stuck in hospital folk. Had to keep reminding myself it's not the time for penny pinching. Willpower after 4 hours sleep 🤷

That's really good that you have in mind about whether things merit spending on so you can make the choice that in a particular situation they do!
Glad that VVSO is after more grub, always a good sign2
