Hello all,
I received a private parking ticket back in 2019 for parking in a disabled bay.
I immediately looked on this site and the general consensus was to not pay private parking ticket.
I ignored and two years later now have a court letter. I have since acknowledged online, and have less than a month to submit my defence.
I've since prepared my defence, along the lines of:
The driver of the vehicle at the time reports to having a friend with them, who placed a disable badge on the dash, which later transpired that the badge had slipped and fallen.
Will this be OKish to at least challenge before I make the payment? Thank you.0 -
No, absolutely not because you said that's a lie.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've read plenty of defences where they're encouraged to be more creative. Your profile is dedicated to not paying a private parking fine, to which if you pay you wouldn't get a fine in the first place. You're misleading people by advising on not paying.0

Which parking firm is pursuing you? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hello Umkomaas. Thank you for your response.Umkomaas said:Which parking firm is pursuing you?
On the county court claim form it says the claimant is UK Parking Control Ltd. And the solicitors are QDR.
Any support would be appreciated0 -
Hi Le Kirk thank you for your response, sorry for the late response as only just saw it!Le_Kirk said:
Are you saying that you had a blue badge or is the permit that fell off the dashboard something else? If you were loading/unloading could try that - if it is true - but you won't find much sympathy for taking up a disabled space even if there were apparently no other motorists wanting to use the space! It is always best to tell the truth, especially in court where it would be unwise to lie to a judge!UltraRevenge said:So I've just acknowledged a parking fine received 2019. I was stupid to quickly leave in a disabled space, and got a ticket.
Thinking about my defence... which I will use the helpful templates by coupon-mad. But I'm not sure I have much of a defence really... can I say that it was a quick load and upload or that the permit fell off the dash board. I feel awful for using this space but the car park was completely empty and didn't think I would stop others from parking. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.
I was stupid enough to leave the car for a few minutes and yes it was for loading & unloading.
