Claim form / County court business centre

Hi all,

So I've just acknowledged a parking fine received 2019. I was stupid to quickly leave in a disabled space, and got a ticket.

Thinking about my defence... which I will use the helpful templates by coupon-mad. But I'm not sure I have much of a defence really... can I say that it was a quick load and upload or that the permit fell off the dash board. I feel awful for using this space but the car park was completely empty and didn't think I would stop others from parking. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?

Upon what date did you file an Acknowledgment of Service?
Your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.

Are you saying that you had a blue badge or is the permit that fell off the dashboard something else?  If you were loading/unloading could try that - if it is true - but you won't find much sympathy for taking up a disabled space even if there were apparently no other motorists wanting to use the space!  It is always best to tell the truth, especially in court where it would be unwise to lie to a judge!

With a Claim Issue Date of 13th May, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 15th June 2022 to file your Defence.

That's nearly four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Thank you. I need to say something in my Defence that will help me win.  I didnt quite know it'll come to this stage - its why I've been ignoring all correspondences. Can I say badge was of a passenger, and the badge had slipped?  Thank you.

Hi coupon mad. I can understand. I feel ashamed aswell, and since then have always been extra careful not park in disable bays.

Can anyone please help me get out of this mess? Thanks.
