NARCO - please free to PM me your address if you need tests I have quite a few to spare.
Today's "activity" has been:
- finalising Mr T order
- washing bedlinen and towels from Mr N's sojourn in the spare room
- putting up the fruit cage
- planting out my squash plants
- weeding veg beds. Slowly.
- ordering a friend's birthday present online
- ordering some plants online, have been trying to resist but what can you do; who knows when we will next get to a plant centre for basket plants? feeble excuse I know.
Most activities are being done in 10min bursts followed by an hour or so resting!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Hi all
Shame about the theatre Narco, hope you are on the mend soon.
Well its been a busy old day. Up at 5.45am, washing hung out, casserole in sc, quick tidy around, shower and on my bike by 7.20am. 7 hours at the paid stuff then 45 minutes to cycle home. Washing in and put away, bed changed, helped DH with tea, washed up because the dw was full, sorted some recycling.
Just got sat down really. Very very tired, and despite a huge plate of casserole mash and veg I am hungry again.9 -
Evening all.
Today I managed to do these things off my list:
- sorted out something for tea tonight (mince and pasta)
- did some more church admin (but not as much as I had hoped to do)
- ran my study group
- bought some bedding plants for the pots on the decking
- walked Rosie
Bonuses:
- carried all the new plants through the house and left them on the decking, where they got a good soaking in this evening's "shower" - they included some pots of lanky but strong runner beans, so I might get an early crop
- mowed 2 weeks' worth of lawn growth - very hard work - and although DH has said he will go back to doing that job in future, I can't see his resolve lasting for very long, and he certainly won't be able to do it for several weeks after he has his hip replacement
- did WMx2 - DH's jeans and T-shirts, and a load of towels - and hung them out in the warm breeze, so they were nearly dry when the rain started
- "suggested" that DH ought to clean his own ensuite
- helped my friend K remove her broken toilet seat, which had been solidly boxed in
- filled my car with the cheapest available petrol
- cleaned DH's shower, which was left untouched and in a disgusting state when he cleaned the rest of the ensuite - and he didn't put bleach down the loo, either!
- emptied the bins from all round the house and told DH he needs to do the job that he once claimed for his own and put the recycling bags out for the bin men - but I don't think he wants to go out in the drizzle!
Tomorrow
- the plumber is coming at 08.30 to replace the broken tap on DH's handbasin and almost certianly bringing me his long overdue invoice for the fire and boiler servicing - and it's more than likely that he will find himself prevented from leaving our cul-de-sac by the arrival of the two bin lorries in quick succession!
- the church admin needs more attention
- the gardener is coming at 11.00, after the bin lorries have been and gone - while he is here, I want to empty all the daffodils and tulips out of the big pots, so that he can re-fill them with fresh compost for me
- we have separate church council meetings in the evening
- I still need to ring the bank.
Another busy day ahead, then...!

Morning lovelies, another hot sunny day here.
OH has just cut the lawn, and is going to clear moss and weeds off some of the block paving drive.
Bed made, clothes picked up, windows open (must remember to close curtains on sunny side later
Kitchen tidied,
Cats trays done
Hoovered upstairs and down and the stairs.
Banking and spending updated
Pellets moved out of house to the garage
OH is going to work to pick up final documents this afternoon and go and find a jockey wheel for the trailer
I need to book appointment to get the boiler serviced
Judging by the temperature already and the forecast, this afternoon will be a book inside. (28-29°C°)
If anyone else is enjoying higher than normal temperatures don't forget to drink plenty of water and make sure oldies and kids stay hydrated too.
