"We are an ethical company which has secured us work in the NHS sector and if the land owner wishes for PCNs to be cancelled we would uphold that request."

Have been kicking myself that didn't take photos of cordoned off parking spaces on that fateful day back in Mar 2018. Found a TripAdvisor review Jan 2018 complaining that disabled spaces cordoned off due to building works.
Confidence growing to fight this all the way. Has become matter of principle now. Would rather risk SCC & pay £200 than give into these bottom feeders.
Can I have legal opinion: museum are obviously protective of their rep, respond to all TripAdvisor reviews. Thinking of Emailing manager to advise MP now involved, angry now reminded myself of events that day & that museum taking such an unsympathetic stance, willing to go to press if I end up in court, strongly suggest instruct case dropped. Would feel awful if museum incur costs for doing this though (get impression this driver for museum manager decision) & will pay donation to museum, if this is the case. Seen as bribery?

Unless you're paying them money to do something then it isn't bribery ... coercion perhaps.Jenni x1

Sounds like a good plan to me. But we don't and can't give a 'legal opinion' here.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

In unlikely event this ends up in SCC, will judge be approving of PPC for removing illegal fee & critical of fact I did not take opportunity to pay reduced charge which, although unconscionable amount IMO, appar still stands after Beavis case ??We never second guess a Judge, but why would he/she? Don't overthink things. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

No, the false fee NEVER plays a part in whether a Judge decides the PCN case in favour of a PPC at a hearing. Judges always disallow it now but that can't affect the view of the £100.
Judges look at signage primarily, also other things like landowner authority, primacy of contract in residential cases, keeper liability where the driver is unidentified, grace periods and other breaches of the CoP, and they have a legal duty to consider fairness and prominence of terms and notices.
You are overthinking it and looking at the so called 'deadline' to pay £100 as if it is a bargain. Yet we win 99% of cases here and the £70 add-on would be disallowed even if you lost.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
