Could we start a meal plan thread again, so it's not lost in the GC?
A few changes this week already! Got a TGTG bag with jacket potatoes and loads of carrots and still picking loads of tomatoes from the garden.
Have batch cooked a bolognaise sauce using nearly a Kg of tomatoes; carrot and lentil soup in the SC today. Some of which will be lunch tomorrow and the rest will be portioned and frozen. Have got leeks in the fridge which need using so going to make some leek and potato soup tomorrow and we'll have that for lunch the day after and the rest will be frozen. Not sure which dinner is going to be left out but will have jacket potato one evening.
I am envious of @joedenise for that tgtg bag - all I get offered round here are pastries.
Last week went more or less according to plan. This week I’m expecting to be eating elsewhere a couple of times, so it’s a 5 day plan.
pasta puttanesca roast veg tart and salad roast chicken thighs, purple sprouting broccoli, asparagus, mange tout Caesar salad vegetable risotto hm faggots (from freezer), onion gravy, purple sprouting broccoli, baked potato (also from freezer)
@bouicca21 - we have 2 Morrisons near us and both of them tend to be fruit and veg heavy. There's usually a couple of bakery products but not usually more than 3, say an uncut loaf, a cut loaf and some crumpets for example. That's why we just tend to stick with those bags rather than any of the others.
Menu plan definitely didn't get stuck to this week and not sure what's happening this week either as we're hoping to get away in our motorhome for a few days so if we do the plan will change so probably best not to post! Can only get away if our mobile engineer can get here early next week to install our new fridge! He was supposed to come today but messaged first thing to say he done his back in yesterday so taking a few days off and he'll be in touch. Bit annoying as it means everything is up in the air at the moment!
Made a change yesterday instead of beef casserole (it'll bounce on a week) I made pitta pizza’s using up some goats cheese, l/o tomato sauce & veg. Also found a tin of salmon at the back of the cupboard - BBE date Jul 2020 thought it best to use it asap with leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

Meal plan already changed! Looks as though I will be out all day tomorrow and unlikely to want to put much effort into meal prep when I get home. So I’m going to experiment with a slow cooker bacon rolypoly. My mum used to make this back in the 60s when money was short and I loved it. Not sure that I will still love it, but I fancy giving it a go and being out for 10+ hours provides a good excuse.
Still managing to stick to plan most days with the occasional swap around. Trying out a couple of "new to me" recipes this week, also an experiment with a meatloaf in the slow cooker.
