At my meeting on Monday I will share this info with the landowner and hope to get him to see the real picture.
I am going to put a large gate across my drive to make it obvious that it is not part of the car park.
A gate across the main car park entrance wouldn’t work unfortunately. Even if the trader stopped using the car park, the landowner is going to be stuck with a 2 year UKPC contract. The motor trader has not been a big problem, the landowner is overreacting to this I think, but clearly this is annoying.
Thanks for all your help, I will find a cease and desist letter and say to use, that would seem to be a sensible option initially.I can see that the UKPC patrol is going to be not as low key as they are portraying it to be.4 -
Yep, they are on record as bleeding sites dry. Show him the articles (plural) that I've provided about them during this thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I appreciate the advice, many thanks everyone.1

UKPC foot patrols are the decision from the landowner for the car park. He thinks they will be ok.
He will need planning permission for the signs of course. I can at least drive in and out without restrictions as can my visitors.3 -
Lord knows why he chose ex-clampers UKPC, with their track record.
However, there are no parking firms yet fair enough that we could recommend. Maybe that might change one day. And at least your right of way is protected, and you know where not to park (avoid, avoid, avoid).
If I were you, personally I'd go and tip off the car sales place to warn them, so they don't get targeted. None of us want UKPC to be issuing any PCNs at all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Advertising consent is needed for signs. Not having it is a criminal offence. You can object at the consultation hearing if you wish, as can anyone else. This can often be done online, and I don't think you actually have to be a local resident to complain. If you find out anything about it, you could always post a link here.
Note that UKPC signs never comply with the BPA CoP because the amount of the charge as well as Ts and Cs are buried in tiny font.
I like the idea about warning the motor trader. I would warn the shops nearby as well if it were me.
Well done on fighting this, but it wouldn't surprise me if you or any of your visitors still got a PCN anyway.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks8 -
If you are a neighbour you should receive a letter from the planning dept. giving you the opportunity to object (or support the application - like that is going to happen) assuming they apply for planning permission!6

Does the seeking of permission and consent fall to the landowner? If so, I'd be giving him another reason to give up on the idea of having a predator rove his kingdom! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

any update?1

Nothing has happened yet with the car park, UKPC are apparently busy.
I have now got a farm style gate across my driveway and maximised my own driveway parking as much as possible. I hope to keep the gate shut as much as possible. The boundary between the car park and my driveway is now clearly visible so that will hopefully help. Thanks everyone!4
