Apparently you are limited to 3 drinks at lunchtime and 3 in the evening. Any others have to be paid for.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

It doesn't affect all areas of all islands. Only a couple of areas are affected on Majorca and, from what I've read, not all areas of the other islands are limited either. Unfortunately I can't find detail of which areas.

If you go to trip adviser Spain forum there are some discussions on where the restrictions are.1

This has been going on for a couple of years now. Magaluf, El Arenal and certain other parts of the Balearics. JET2 have been publicizing this for a couple of years now. Especially when you book certain hotels in those areas.

I never knew. How interesting.
What do they mean by 3 drinks? Does a large beer = 2 ?
Is it limited to mealtimes, or just by the clock?
I can see why limits may be needed, and I'm not a heavy drinker, but would usually manage more than 3 units between 12pm and 5pm, for example. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

So if you're prepared to pay...you can still get bladdered?! 😜🍺
I wonder if the price of these holidays will reduce accordingly 🤣.
For info....I'm not in the market for a holiday in any of the effected resorts.
But we have enjoyed many an AI holiday in the Canaries or the mainland.
Being able to just wander to the self service beer tap and grab a beer by the pool is part of the appeal.
Again, with these things, it penalises those who don't abuse what's on offer.

Surely the holiday companies have to inform you before booking0

They shouldn't really be (still, if they are) marketing the effected hotels as All Inc though, they should be more like "full board plus".How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
