Books back to the library and more brought home (only 2 of the original ones left, they're both 'how to' books and I only got those 2 last week). Was going to take some of the paperwork with me but didn't - definitely an option for next week, spread it out on a table in a quiet corner. Carried on to little arseda (lots of sit downs), didn't want much (getting cash out of the machine for my brother - decided it was nearer than the main road ones) but they had huge plant pots of foxgloves and had reduced the fruit bushes so got 3 of each and then found more bits than I'd thought of - fruit, reduced shelf things to try (and a small doll for my grand-daughter - it was the right colour and I might not be able to get something so suitable when I need it). Borrowed the trolley to bring things home (had told the shop assistant).
Have picked everything off the floor, worked my way along the bottom of the bed and along the far side (did go dizzy once or twice from bending down) but not made a lot of progress. Eaten a lot of bits from the fridge, got more washing on the line and the next load in the washer. Cooked the brisket with assorted veg (supper time treat).
DS2 and mummy to be paid a brief visit this afternoon - on their way to a friend's child's birthday party. Said I would be going to the funeral but would make my own way there by train the day before and book somewhere to stay. They said they and DS1 and his wife were planning to do the same. They told me where they were staying and that rooms were scarce because it's a BH weekend. I'd already looked at a few places but went back online and booked the last room in the same place. Very expensive but has a spa so I might just indulge in some R &R whilst I'm there - booked 2 nights so I come home the day after the funeral, will take it in easy stages.
Have looked at some holidays - one was just a weekend in Snowdonia with red deer and other wildlife in the grounds. Might not bother with the excursions, just spend time pottering round and sitting watching the deer. I still need to fit in with the baby's arrival and need to know if my efforts have been successful or whether I have to start on insulin. May have to buy some clothes - a couple of dresses, 2 pairs of leggings and a nightie. Thrown the dress I was painting in away - stiff with paint and full of holes. The one I'm wearing is next on the painting clothes list. Some of my clothes are seriously shabby, it hasn't mattered that much for the past 2 years.
I'd already spent money so I ordered some books I've had on my wish list for a while and spent a long time looking at rag doll patterns and clothes and proper wool felt. There are also some health supplies I could do with and some other items on the wish list.
Grateful for finishing the batch of library books (have a load of cs ones that need to be read in the next 2 weeks or they're going), good food, picking things up, doing the 2 worst bits of the bathroom floor and a quick wipe of most of the rest, making inroads on getting recycling out.

Sunday 22nd May 2022
Tell someone you love them today, because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing.
Daily Self Reflection (just to ponder, you don't need to add it to your 'to do' list). It's another way of looking at things.
What was your favourite thing about today?
What do you value about today?
Are you living in a way that reflects the person you want to be?
If you keep living life this way, would you become the person you want to be?
Tomorrow, how can you adjust your behaviour and perspective to be more aligned with the person you want to be?
How can you make tomorrow better?

Hope that comes out all right, it was a bit big to type out, but I've got the screen set to a high multiplication and it now looks huge - apologies to those using their phones or tablet things.
Self Care Sunday doesn't necessarily mean do nothing. Having picked everything up yesterday and then spent the night squeezed onto what was left of the bed, I need to tackle this paperwork mountain, even if it just means sorting it into a few piles (bags or boxes) so that I can access the most urgent things. Hopefully without setting off an avalanche that deposits it back on the floor. Did start writing out stuff from one of my notebooks last night - to update my brother on where we're up to (and get it straight in my head and formulate a plan for the coming week). Stopped when I got too tired.
I think I'll start with purging the books - if they've been hanging around on the shelves during the pandemic and I never got round to reading them, they can go. I'm building up complete collections by my favourite authors (stuff I'll read over and over, mostly cs or second hand) so I have things when I can't get to the library. I have just started a couple that I really like - brought my books upstairs and when I'm sitting downstairs to eat, I pull something off the shelf - but some things I used to enjoy (or found comforting) don't 'work' for me atm.
I need to take my own advice, bite the bullet and look at devices for reading stuff or listening to stuff and I might need a more complicated phone, just to play some of my favourite games (lost several that are 'no longer being supported'). Learn how to use things properly (or re-learn in many cases - had to ask DS3 to find something on my laptop the other day and I was wondering how he'd done something and later thought that I remembered what certain keys or buttons did).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
Love the self care Sunday ☺️
Yesterday I did some cleaning after breakfast, had a customer coming to be pinned into a dress.
Took DS3 & his friend into town. Bought some zips for today's sewing jobs & some plants (1 for next doors golden wedding anniversary on Friday), then spent 2 hours in the garden, weeding. Some big raindrops fell but thankfully they only lasted seconds! Collected DS3 & friend. Unpicked zips after tea & did some crochet. Battery had run out on phone, so couldn't post last night.
Grateful for warm weather, the rain not lasting long & 2 tidy borders in the gardenUse it up, wear it out

Yes, it ends at 6pm it is the last day of the league @Toni'sfriend - we are 'borrrowing' the proper important match off the interweb though, as nobody is showing it - soon it will all be strawberries and pole vaulting.

Grateful today for line dried washing, for dh doing a bit more towards the fence, for dc coming out for a short walk with me, for strong coffee, for my book. For the first time in years, I do not know how many nsds I have had. May is being a decidedly wobbly month. I don't think I'll be able to organise the June challenge. Are there any volunteers??NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

A day of rain, so I've sat behind my sewing machine all day & tackled a big & tricky job. Pleased it's done now though. Had a brainwave halfway through. After seeing a clip of the jubilee trifle, hubby had said how much he loves trifle! After never mentioning it in the 27 years we've been together 😂 remembered I'd bought a Swiss roll last week, sliced it into the dish, mixed 2 OOD red jellies (different flavours), we have packet custard on the shelf & I froze some ys extra thick cream the other week, so took 2 out the freezer ready to adorn the top. Quite pleased that I'd thought of it! Did the huge pile of ironing & decluttered programmes off the box. Also sold an item that's been on eboy for a while. Donated money to a friend's daughter doing the Loch Ness marathon.
Grateful for doing the sewing frog, more space to sit on the settee again, trifle & another saleUse it up, wear it out
