We could give each other a hand & moral support.
Have you got a v shaped cushion for in bed?I don't know if you remember the VShepe piillows I mentioned to you a while back. It would be worth you asking Beloved if you could try one of hers to see if it helps; The Marks fleece ones I bought for youngest and myself were much cheaper than the big ones we used to buy from JL and aren't huge and hard like the JL ones which we'd often find ourselves lying on the mattress after sliding down. An added bonus is they're warm and cosy and helped a lot in cold weather and during flares . I wouldn't be without mine now and am planning to buy the matching bedding for cooler weather. The prices were much lower than I expected . Meanwhile dd is fighting the cats for her pillow.A few years ago my eldest put some monthly magazines I've bought for years on a gift subscription. The latest edition of one has a little cat house to make. Basically a bedside chest with a top drawer and a door. They have cut out a cat head on the door for entering and exit and exiting it is very cute and our two would love one each. Our BHF shop sells good new furniture very cheaply and a few years ago I bought two three drawer bedside chests, Life got very busy and they didn't get the usual sand prime ,undercoat and two coats of flat white paint .I'm now wondering if I could change the drawers for a pine door. No doubt Miss Magrat Garlick will want whichever one her brother is in but that's what she does.I know you're trying self care but you shouldn't be picking up and cleaning after DS3 and Beloved . I still think it's worth you talking to the owner of the house next door about them renting the house. With CBT and trying to pace you need to prioritise your physical and mental health . Youngest was never messy but I know from experience how looking after someone when your own health isn't good can have an impact. You need your own space and less stress. A bungalow is out of the question but you could use more of your house to suit you. your son should not be telling you what you should and shouldn't do in your own home and you shouldn't be putting their shopping away and tidying the mess.I don't mean to upset you but for once you need to put yourself first. When your grand daughter is born you want to be able to have her visit in a calm atmosphere wilth no restrictions on who can sit where . One day DS and Beloved wil need to cope alone . The fact they seem to function during the night would drive me loopy and so would a messy Chinchilla. How is it going with the PIP? After the form arrived long after the date on the letter I had to phone them. First for an extension which they were fine with then again when they sent a letter saying we were late returning the form. The lovely yong Scots man c onfirmed the extension was now on the system so that's tomorows task to check the form and send it off. I noticed this morning they have given two different addresses for the return address so need to figure that out. When I first phoned for the extension there was an automatic vioice thing to go through which was very frustrating as it was questioning me as the claimant. No idea how many times I said I am my daughters appointee and they kept repeating the same recorded questions. I was losing the will to go on when thankfully a person cut in and sorted things out. I think it's the first time since DD was on DLA as a child I've been the first person to speak to a customer adviser and no Vivaldi played on repeat.I did a huge shop this evening in our little Coop. Some prices have gone up but not many so I stocked up for a month.I noticed they had self seal white envelopes in various sizes so I bought two packs . Whichever fits the PIP form will hopefully be sent from the village post office tracked tomorrow. People say not to bother sending the form tracked but I've always done it because i can check Royal Mail omline to see it has arrived and have a copy of the tracking reciept if needed . It helps minimise DDS anxiety knowing it's there. They are hoping to assess her on paper rather than Face to Face. They did that for her ESA SG and that avoided all the stress of attending a face to face so did her last PIP being on paper. They have taken on a lot more staff to catch up on claims. The steroid injections I had haven;t helped much and Superdoc suspects I have two more Rotator Cuff tears, I'll have to have a scan like last time. I'm hoping i wont need Barbotage. DD managed it ok last time but as i watched it it looked quite brutal. Effective but it was a long process as the Doctor kept stopping to inject painkillers and I'm a wimp when it comes to needles. Only the series of Covid jabs were ones I was calm about knowing It was the right thing to do.I was lucky and only felt a tiny sting when the needle went in and no after effects while DD reacted badly to them all.I hope you sleep well.I haven't posted much but will go back again to the Poor Health thread.pollyxETA Good luck with the CBT tomorrow . Both CBT and later DBT helped DD a lot. She was very lucky Superdoc brought in an excellent Counsellor to the practise who gently led her through the locked boxes of the past and gave her the tools to look at and challenge all the bad judgement of herself she;d developed over the years when it was a wrong mental health diagnosis in her early teens that caused the damage. 20 years to get the right one and she could leave the past behind and deal with the right daignosis as an adult .

Yesterday was a NSD, helped by me leaving the house at 7.30am and getting home after 10pmWas at FT job in the day and then went straight to PT job. Had a quick walk at lunchtime. Ate healthily. Finished my book in bed. Didn't sleep well, kept waking up with cramp.
Was grateful to receive a parcel from my friend who had sent me some bunting for jubilee

Free fun things to do when you're broke
(a few quirky ones)
* Tuck notes of encouragement into library books
* Have a picnic (indoors if necessary) - when I was studying accounting, I spent my lunch in the large park next door, sitting on a bench, near the duck lake.
* Buy a whole day ticket for the bus, take your sandwiches and drinks and explore
* Karaoke (if you're a terrible singer like me, do it at home when you're alone - or use it to drive people up the wall)
* Watch the Wizard of Oz whilst listening to Dark Side of the Moon
(Feel free to jump in with your own suggestions)

Good morning Turtles. I'm rocking Wednesday on 4NSDs but today will not be one of them as I'm having to keep popping to the shop for more Lucozade and paracetamol and anything the poorly sick birthday boy needs so I have to add another £14.66 to my spend... but I was ahead, so there's that. Our trip today is rescheduled for July, so we'll be saving the fuel to Somerset. The nice cave witches sorted out our tickets for us, which is lovely. And the plus point is even if I do get sick now myself we should be recovered for month end and the trips to Scarborough and Brighton which are essentially freelancing work jollies.Keep reading books!
August grocery challenge budget £150, £90.14 spent in total - £59.86 remaining.9 -
@wishus - medical expenses are exempt, so you keep that NSD.We are Turtles, not monsters (well, some of us are monsters as well - like c00kie Monster or Oskar the Grouch, Elm0)Medicine and Fuel and planned for expenses (window cleaner/ weekly scouts subs etc) do not count.

Today I am grateful for the resurfaced road being so beautiful to drive along, for a successful parents evening, for supportive colleagues, for scrambled egg, for a good book.

Evening
WfH this morning, had a good meeting with boss and colleague. Took leave this afternoon to do some casual work, not done the role before but seemed to go ok. Had a long drive there and back but beautiful scenery en route.
Paid for the gym for DD2 and pilates course for me - hoping having paid for a block I will actually do it!
Gratitudes - possible progress with a work issue; new job opportunities; driving home in the sunshine
