Hi turtles!
I am only caught up to Wednesday - loved the quotes @mothernerd
I got sent home from work yesterday as I was in close contact with someone who has tested positive. I have no symptoms so sitting tight until I can test and hope all clear so I can celebrate bf's bday this weekend and go to UK next Friday. I haven't seen my mates in well over 2 years and I have to admit I will be gutted if it turns out I can't go. Oh well, there's always the trip I've booked in August.
I have no more NSDs to report. Bf did a top up shop yest and then we took a can of beer to drink in the park (away from people) Have meditated and done a half ar*ed attempt at morning pages. Need to meal plan, and no progress on frogs and no reading before bed. Went for an hour's walk yesterday. Today I will use the static bike as neck still hurts too much to run or skip.
Grateful for having no symptoms, for having a slow brekkie today with bf, for blueberries and raspberries in my granola (a luxury which I allow myself - remembering that the ones my mum grows in England are ten times more delicious - and free - and I will get to eat those next week hopefully!)
Enjoy your day turtles, I will try to catch up on posts!Student loan £5655

Thanks polly and weenancyinamerica and to everyone else for their hugs and support (I have Goth Bunny as well). I think writing down some of the things that are annoying me helped - the anger is receding as I've identified individual issues and using the anger as energy (making something negative into something useful). weenancy that's the tack I'm trying too - the front room is improving (although next big task is to get chinchilla mummy and daddy to clean out the grand-chinchillas' cage), knew I really couldn't face the kitchen or do the stairs again BUT I can make a start here in my room with my stuff, my private space, my 'to do' list and I need a clean, clear space for the herd of paperwork elephants (plus it saves tit-for-tat arguments if I decide to tackle them).
I spent a morning looking at one and two bedroom flats/ apartments and bungalows as I too think that moving them on or moving myself is the way forward. The nearest and cheapest flats were a bit small for me (and only one ground floor one) and also face the boys and my old school (could get noisy at times) and although it's bout the same distance from little Arseda you can't come out at the front and have to go out the back and around the side (built on the site of a former Council maintenance site) and at the base of the 'Netto slope'. Two I looked at in more detail (recent 'visit' was the second) both had sitting tenants. One (with a long-term sitting tenant) was an 'attic' apartment and had a lot more a space as the others.
But I am considering all possible solutions to my many 'challenges' (I don't have problems, only challenges) so don't be afraid to chip in with your ideas, it's easier to clear up other peoples' mess and the semi-detached perspective sees more. f0xh0les I did look at murphy beds but they're rather pricey. I actually have an excess of beds. There are 2 at mum's whose fate hangs in the balance - one has a future home but the intended recipient is now on her second return to hospital following her latest operation, the other might have to go to the tip (and I've been through all the permutations for that too).
Wondering if DS3 would 'like' a home office (large shed/ log cabin in the yard). Cheaper than a proper extension and don't need planning permission if under 8'6". His desk and chair, exercise bike, all his 'work' stuff (including stuff for selling at conventions which only sees the light of day twice a year) could go in there (and DS3 too). I could make the front room into a proper 'living room' and my bedroom into a calming restful area. Safe for me and safe for baby.
Lots of things that need varying amounts of money (including priority repairs here, then adaptations and replacing all the 'make dos' currently in place (they hate the wardrobes in their room, I've hated them since I brought them back here when my brother died 14 years ago (at mum's insistence). But for now it's start where I am, use what I've got, do what I can, so for me it's 'Frog Friday' continuing with 'project bedroom' and nibbling away at paperwork frogs and elephants. I did summon the energy to go to the far side of the bed, rearrange the floor lamp, trolley and CPAP machine plus the plugs and the bed is back flat to the wall (but with space for walking on the window side). It needs some tweaks but will try this layout for a while.
Grateful for music (played an eclectic collection yesterday evening), books, family (can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em), my bed, 50p sandwiches (no need to go downstairs for a while, can concentrate on my space, my 'work') and 'bags for life' (I have labels, I can divide and conquer).

Friday 13th May 2022 (duh-duh-derr)
Friday the 13th Chant
Friday the 13th
The witches day
May a good wish
Come my way
Unlucky for some
But not for me
I count my blessings
You grant my wish
N No unnecessary spends - especially on money thieves like coffee shops. No coffee shops is easy for me - I hate the stuff. However we all do things on the naughty list every now and then, just make sure it's not a habit. I have bought sandwiches on occasion (mostly the 50p end of the day ones and once this month I had enough points to pay for all my shopping).
However (positive hat on again) I'm counting that as a win because to get to the 50p sandwich shop I had to go past the diner that makes wonderful bacon barms, an off license/ convenience store, a pizza parlour, a kebab shop, MuckyD's and a pie shop (some with wonderful aromas).
If I go across the car park and front of the town hall, there's a pizza place facing me as I wait at the crossing (with a burger bar and the 'wok-in' next to it), side of the pizza shop followed by 2 kebab shops and another offie/ convenience store with two pub grub places on the other side of the road and the little side street around the corner has a kebab shop, fish and chip + kebab shop, expensive sandwich shop, very expensive posh pie shop and on the corner the same pie shop as on the original list.
It's a wonder I'm not the size of a house. Just do your best, try your hardest and if you slip up, forgive yourself, confess all to your fellow turtles and don't turn a blip into a 'give up'
End quote
Good morning, it's Friday 13th.
Just warning you before you make any weekend plans for cabins by lakes

Well, Witchy Friday is going pretty well for me....... so far .......Went to Alidee and got a clementine plant for £2.99 ( they are also selling them for £5.99), and possibly a future lemon tree, I don't know, it has lost its box, it is in disguise, but it is either one or the other and now, after convincing the checkout lady to actually sell it to me (a feat in itself as - it doesn't have a box!!!!! ) it is mines.Wandered around all the c/shops in the town, and have one left to visit out of town on the reverse school run.TwitBoy needs new trousers but will not be seen dead with me out-and-about, so a couple of pairs of c/s BNWT jeans for him to try on. Paid cash, kept the receipts and told the c/shops he is a funny shape so I might have to bring them back.Went to the Land of the £, and bought some plants that were much more expensive elsewhere, and some £5 ice cream for £1.50. All in all a good haul with lots of bargains. Then home to find out the house in NI has offers £25k over the asking price. So we are going to stop viewings and let them fight it out between themselves. So there. A kind of a plan is emerging.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Afternoon, Turtles. Back home and just caught up on all your news. Hugs to anyone who needs one.
Money - Still on NSD No 6 as obviously we had to buy food and drinks but it was quite an inexpensive break and very enjoyable.
Home - I'm going to have a relaxing day today and get back to normal tomorrow. Plants have really bloomed in four days. It's looking really colourful now. Some are now needing bigger pots so I'll have to buy those and order some more compost.
Me - It was a lovely, relaxing few days and we walked for miles. We've got some plans for the next couple of weeks to keep that going.
Off for a coffee now. Quite miserable and cold here today.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Apologies for the typos last night MN. My hands are hopeless at the moment Superdoc suspects I have two rotator cuff tears again and has requested a scan. No idea how long the wait will be as both hospitals in our trust are struggling to catch up on everything.I don't feel a flat would suit you. You can't choose your neighbours and would there be a garden? Like me you're happy with your hands in the soil and watching things grow. With the rising costs of utilities food etc home grown veg and perhaps fruit could make a difference.Rather than consider if DS3 would like a home office outside he and Beloved are the ones who need to move not you. They're younger and as you've said DS earns well from the games he invents,Depending on mums legacy you could get the repairs done, maybe a walk in shower instead of the bath and possibly a stair lift those things would solve problems you're struggling with mobility wise. You'd still have your outdoor space and wouldn't be cleaning up and bagging rubbish not of your making.Reading you weren't up to hanging the washing out was it beyond either of them to do it?For the sake of your physical and mental health it's time they moved on. You'd still be a family but just living in the way you choose.I can laugh now but when I married my second husband years after my lovely first husband died young I had no idea I was marrying an alcoholic druggie. We got to know every local police officer, ambulance crew and many others by their first names,One day I was hanging the washing out and my eyes strayed to the blue aconite flowers in the garden very out of reach of the children I remembered a warm sunny day on the allotments with dad and the two grandads when I was a toddler and them pulling Aconite flowere out of my mouth and pouring water down my throat . I just wanted to know what the pretty flowers tasted like.Hanging out the washing I thought ok I could put aconite in the strong bitter coffee he drinks. Realising I was tipping towards madness I changed my mind. The secret under the radar working with our then GP and local police began to get him before the Court three court cases as he twice broke the injunction with power of arrest to stay at least 20 miles away from us. Third time he broke it he was gone..My chidren were spared the shame of a mother who murdered and I was glad I pulled myself back from something so stupid.I hope things are going ok with the PIP claim . As dds appointee I had to ring DWP twice a few weeks ago. The letter with the rview form was dated much earlier than it arrived here and the date for return already passed. First call I got an automatic voice asking me questions which were getting me nowhere, Had to ring again a few days later as they sent a letter demanding the retutn of the form or her PIP would stop. With the first call I think I was the first person that day to get through to an adviser once the automaticquestions stopped and got a lovely woman who granted a 14 day extension for returning the form. It was a big change from hanging on the phone and losing the will to go on.The landline here is in a very awkward place on a desk next to a pair of double glass doors, No room for a chair I blame.a lot of my back problems on all the calls to DWP Hospitals etc' I'd plonked myself on the bottom stair to make second call hoping the phone wire wouldn't pull out of the socket. it was a very long wait before the automatic voice came on with all the questions but then a lovely young scottish guy came on the phone listened then looked up my previous call He found the adviser had granted the extension but hadn't registered it so he did that .I'm now searching big button twin handset cordless phones omline. I've had big button phones for years as I struggle with small buttons. They're known in the famiy as mums Old Biddy phones. I've wasted hours when I could have been in the garden on nice sunny days waiting for various NHS or DWP calls so I think cordless is the way to go.I have a list like you MN . Since the pandemic I've had to think harder about all sorts of things especially now shopping tends to be the Coop round the corner, They have been brilliant throughout and now pack my bags as they go through the checkout. We're still having problems trying Click and collect which would mean I'd only have to pick up my order rether than trawl the shop. Everytime I start filling my basket the site suddenly goes down/Lovely sunny day now here on the coast so I hope you're getting some of the sun. Hayfever is high but I've got two months worth of my Hayfever tabs now .Finally got to see youngest yesterday she;s struggling to sleep with everything flaring and upset the lovely BUPA dentist who's taken such care knowing she's ECV with anxiety told her he was leaving at her last 2 weekly appt and was putting her on the list for the new dentist. It's a pity she'd faced her fear and gone alone to her appts and now has no idea when or with who she will be.I did pick up a number of things including my .Christmas and Mothers day presents.I'd ordered the soup maker to theirs as a belated Christmas present when I asked if they'd like one.My presents were surprising but brilliant . I'll post on the Poor Health thread later rather than take over the Turtles thread.I hope all Turtles have a good day and some of the sun.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Today I am grateful for not working on Fridays, for pottering on with some crafting, for a good book, for dc's orthodontist appointment not being too painful, for bagging a good liddle box.
